I suppose it could, but there is probably more effective and efficient improvised weaponry in the immediate vicinity of my turntable - a kukri, for example. As for me, I just use this record stand for its intended purpose - it displays the cover for whatever record is on my turntable.

Can this stand hold a DVD?

It is made to hold full size records so a dvd might get lost on it….unless you wanted to hold a lot of them on it.

Does it hold up CDs as well?

I haven't tried it, but I suppose it would.

No sure, but it is solid wood and can hold two normal vinyl record jackets at the same time.
