Glimmer System, White

I am in love! This machine is wonderful. I’ve avoided getting a foiling machine because it seemed so complicated and I don’t have a printer that uses toner. I do have the deco foil gel, which you can spread over a stencil and once dry run it through a laminator with the foil, and also some Gina K toner design sheets but designs are limited there and the foil often misses sticking to spots on the sheets. The issue I have with the deco gel is having to wait for the gel to dry. The Glimmer is instant foil satisfaction! Super easy to set up and get ready. I also like that the machine is lightweight and small enough that I can leave it out on my craft table. It works perfectly with my Vagabond 2. My only beef would be that it can be difficult to get the plates out of the base without everything slipping. I saw Jennifer McGuire on youtube tape hers to prevent slipping, so that’s what I will do in future. Also, I would love to have more options on the plates. I purchased the hello plate, flower pattern and thinking of you plates, along with the heart flourishes. None of the other plates currently available speak to me, hoping to see more designs soon. All in all, I am thrilled with this machine and am glad I put off getting a foiling machine until now. The $87 and change price currently on amazon is worth every penny for me.

I’ve had a competitors product as well, and this one is better made. Sturdy, and well made. The part that heats up stays the shape it’s suppose to. A++

The Glimmer system is so easy to use, I just love it. Right after I got it I had to whip together a Christmas card and run out the door. It's not perfect, I didn't take the time to line up the dies properly, but that's MY fault not the Glimmer's! LOL!

It took me awhile to decide if I wanted to purchase a foiling system, because I wasn't sure if I would get the results I was was looking for, or if I would have to also purchase another die cutting machine. The Spellbinders Glimmer System works perfectly with my Sizzix Big Shot so that made me really happy. The results are beautiful, and I'm hoping to expand my usage with other dies in my collection.

Follow the directions carefully and make a few experimental pieces. My first efforts had gold smudges that had to be erased. I also found that it took a strong tug to remove the apparatus from the heating element and that the project shifted when I did so. I learned to tape the plate and cardstock together and slip the glimmer between them when ready. I also remove the apparatus from the heating element before I place the spacer plates on top, to make sure everything stayed in place before I put it through the rollers. There are lots of good videos out there to help, but once you get the hang of it, the results are well worth it!

I love this product. It is easy to use out of the box provided you have a compatible die-cutting machine, which I didn’t. That was easily solved; I purchased the Platinum from right here on Amazon with free Prime shipping and voila! Foiling is really fun. I only recommend you also purchase Tombow sand erasers to remove excessive foiling where there shouldn't be.

There was a small learning curve for me, figuring out how to shim the plate so that I could get the best print. I am looking forward to using this machine more (and now that we're all locked down, I suppose I will have more time to do so)! The foil looks very rich and will take my card-making up a few notches.I was lucky to get the system from Amazon Warehouse, so there was a substantial discount. (If you are looking "bigger" purchases, you might want to do a search there.)I also purchased a sand eraser to buff off extra bits of foil.

As soon as I received the machine, I took it out of the box and sampled the foil and the foil plates that were included. The instructions were very easy to follow and my samples came out great. This machine will get plenty of use adding foil to my cards & scrapbook pages.

This product does exactly what I expected. It produces an almost perfect impression of the dies (I tried a few). The final look was either total coverage or a slightly distressed look. After cooling I waited, even though instructions said that it was OK, and tried to flake off the foil and it was pretty solid. You would have to be deliberately trying to remove it. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I had been looking for one of the hot foiling systems for a long time, reading, researching and watching YouTube videos. Finally found this one in stock (as many of the sources were out of stock) So glad I bought it and the delivery was really quick and well packaged. I have only started, so I am not an expert, but love the ease of hot foiling to give beautiful results.

Easy to use but I definitely need more practice to avoid over foiling. Didn't realize this came with a plate and foil. Bonus!

I love this machine, It is a easy to use and results are beautiful. Any over foiling can be removed using a mono sand eraser. I have used with Spellbinders glimmer foil and also with go press and foil, foil. Results have been great. Its my new favourite machine.
