So much fun to use
Must have if you sous vide steak. Great results for searing meats after sous vide. I used to use a cast iron skillet on the stove to sear steaks but the smell of smoke in the kitchen was a big draw back. I now use this to sear steaks quickly outside and results are perfect

Expensive but saves so much time - also very fun to use!
I bought a KJ Classic here through Amazon - after my first couple cooks I decided that trying to start a fire with the little starter cubes they have kind of sucked! One moderately windy day I wasn't able to get it started at all! Frustrating when you've got meat that's been dry brined and is ready to roll. So I wanted something that was fool proof. Enter the Grill Blazer Su-V Gun!Now a gun that shoots fire at 240,000 BTUs is a little intimidating. I have kids and don't want to set myself (or my house) on fire, so I made sure to watch all the boring safety videos to ensure that I was minimizing my risk of all that. If you're going to get this I'd say watch the videos. I am glad I did, if anything just to get the full picture on how to use this thing.I bought two 1lb propane tanks at Ace and attached one to the gun and gave it a go lighting some lump charcoal. This thing is POWERFUL. I had the propane on the minimum flow setting, it fired right up. Did a test blast and it was pretty intense! But also empowering in a weird way. Anyways, I used it to light my charcoal and in 30 seconds I had smoldering charcoal. This would've probably taken like 5-10 minutes with the old fire starter cubes that are currently sitting in a cabinet somewhere. And it takes the variables out when you can just blast fire directly onto the charcoal to ensure they are lit properly. This thing is expensive. I did wonder if there's a cheaper option out there but it seems to be built well. I've used it a handful of times so I can't speak to the longevity of this. I'll be very disappointed if this doesn't last me for years to come. I assume part of that is how it's maintained - I'm pretty careful about using it and storing it safely, so I hope that'll contribute to its long-term durability. In short, if you decide that the cost is worth saving the time it takes to light your charcoal every time you want to grill or smoke anything, this thing is a winner. I've been happy so far as it helps me take that variable out of the whole equation. It's fun to use, a bit scary, but responsible use of this thing is paramount! If you get it (which I would recommend), watch some safety videos, be careful, and enjoy!

Awesome for searing meats
I got this to add a sear to meats after sous vide. It takes a little getting used to, but it works well. Might sound dumb, but the flame is extremely hot so you need to make sure not to hold it too close to the food. It's a little pricey for what it is, but it's definitely the most BA/ fun way to add a sear.Based on the picture, I tried connected the gas tank directly to the product, but it would intermittently stop. I ended up buying a 3 foot hose to use in between as a connector and it works much better so I would recommend doing that as well.

Best way to light Kamado Joe
The longer I have this the more ways I find to use it. I have bought many for friends as gifts. Sear steaks, light charcoal barbecue, kill weeds, light fire pits and trash burns.

Buyer Beware.
This is a great concept for grilling but it could be better. The red valve on top cut the gas on and the trigger ignites the gas. Be careful to close this valve tightly; I closed the valve until it hit the stop and thought it was completely closed. I came back the next morning and thought I saw a puff of flame in the muzzle. It had burned all night.Check your valve.Update from a month of use; After replacing the propane with a 1 lb. tank, I got three lights from it before the tank died. Every time making sure the valve was closed tight, it has to still be leaking gas. Putting a third new tank on this morning and had the thing won’t light. I unscrewed the new tank off and on three times before I finally got gas to flow through and light. At this rate the price of propane and the hassle make this product unusable. I would look elsewhere for a lighter.Update to the update; never worked as designed. After using this leaking, dangerous torch 30 times it stopped working completely. Trash. Company never offered to replace it for another when first purchased. Do. Not. Buy. This. Horrible experience.
