trusted brand, love the peppermint, deters skeeters, but spray evenly
5 stars because I really like the scent, it doesnt give me a headache, it is a trusted brand (I use their lawn treatment), and that there are different scent offerings. I find that mosquitos seem to hate peppermint, so I went with the peppermint offering. I love that I can spray this all over and it smells good and fresh. I use it on myself, my clothing, area around me that I am sitting outside. As with any essential oil based bug deterrent, it may not last as long as you like. Also it takes a good spray down to make sure pesky mosquito's dont find the one tiny spot you may have left uncovered.Permethrin and DEET will always work best. But I dont want that on my body every day, and I dont want my pets near it. I save that stuff for hiking or deep woods working. But for casual go out side and hang out or play with my dogs? Wondercide is as safe and relatively effective option. Not perfect, but I do recommend.I havent used it on my cats. I normally dont use it on my dogs either, but I have dabbed some on their fur when the mosquitos are being extra obnoxious. We dont have fleas or anything really to address inside, but I wouldn't hesitate to use this on bedding, couches, curtains, etc if need be. My only buy issues is that of mosquitos. All else I pretty much give a pass to. I dont mind no see ums, spiders. I rarely get ants but that is probably because I dont keep things sitting out that attracts them. This Peppermint formula is probably my favorite. Fresh and doesnt trigger a headache. I like the smell of cedar, but it can trigger a headache on me. I know that cedar works extremely well, and so I expected to see as the main part of the formula (and it is), yet the other essential oils added in take over the cedar aroma and I havent had a any headaches from this.Has enough other ingredients to help it stay on skin and clothes and not immediately dissipate-- helps give it longevity. There ARE other products of similar nature on the market. I have bought a few to try. I keep coming back to Wondercide. I bought the 32 ounce container. I suggest going with biggest you can afford.

Toxicity risk, Vet said DO NOT USE PEPPERMINT or CLOVE OIL on dogs; Lemongrass, cedarwood SAFER.
Peppermint scent is too strong for a Beagle's nose and gave them DIARRHEA the next day. My Veterinarian advised me NEVER to use peppermint oil or clove oil on a dog's skin or fur. He said these particular oils are not healthy, a toxicity risk, if my dogs lick it off their fur and it is not safe if too much oil absorbs into their system through the skin, could cause side effects which is why I brought them to see the Vet; they both got diarrhea the day after I applied it. I found that spraying this all over my dogs, as directed, is not very effective because the fleas hide close to the skin beneath the fur. I found it beneficial to have WC on hand to help control the amount of fleas on my dogs but it is not a solution. Bathing, vacuuming, flea comb inspections and using the flea spray on the dog beds (right after the dog gets off of the bed), are all a must to help control them during a bad season and to eliminate them completely as weather gets cooler. I am very surprised that Wondercide company has not researched the facts on toxicity of peppermint and clove oils; Irresponsible. My Vet said cedarwood and lemongrass were safer but only in moderation. He said any kind of essential oil can irritate their eyes and nose especially if it is not sprayed properly and carefully. The cedarwood scent did not annoy my beagles as much as peppermint. Per my Vet's advice I stopped using the peppermint and bought WC cedarwood. Both scents were effective to kill fleas fast but only when it is sprayed directly on the flea. If the fleas scatter and avoid contact with the product then they will not die. It is not a prevention; only a dead flea prevents the population from growing. I use a flea comb to help lift the fleas up through the fur and then directly sprayed those that were caught on the comb; trying to avoid contact with their skin. Spraying randomly and rubbing through the fur was only somewhat effective and seems waste-full since the product must come in contact directly with fleas to kill them off. I did switch from WC to another brand with the same ingredients/oil, same size, and I now save a bit over $10 per bottle. The WC sprayer is also cheap in comparison to VB which has is a bit more of a misty spray that covers the dog beds better; doesn't waste as much so quickly and works just a well. WC does kill fleas but be mindful of how much you apply and how frequently and apply it very carefully away from their face; allow it to dry so they don't ingest any of it by licking it off. I find WC overpriced and switch to another brand for this reason.

So Pleased!
I don't like the idea of using a chemical on my young puppy and this is a great alternative

Great fragrance
This stuff is awesome. You feel awful when you have a flea problem, but this is an excellent solution. This is my second time to purchase. I like the pepperment.

Not a miracle but helpful
I live with my family and with many, many cats. We reached the part of the season when the flea apocalypse just hit out of nowhere and I reached the point of full frustration of dealing with them every day, and dealing with chemicals daily to fight it off. Getting rid of fleas and keeping them at bay is a full time job alongside caring for many cats. This product was a breath of nice smelling fresh air while dealing with it.In my room, I have my own 3 cats and the rest live in the rest of the house. They kept going out in the rest of the house and bringing the fleas back in here. We changed the floor in the room from carpet to cheap linoleum, leaving my bed as the only main location of carpeting available for the fleas to be in. I bought this because I needed something to help deal with any fleas that might be in my bed without resorting to spraying harsher chemicals in there too. In combination with our efforts to fight the fleas in my room and in the house, this product has met my needs. I bought the peppermint one and it is an intense smell, so I had to open the window a bit after spraying my bed with it after washing the bedding for the hundredth time. It dried up by bedtime, the smell persisted but wasn't as intense later as when it was first sprayed. I am so happy I was able to find something to put directly on my bed that didn't involve me rolling around in flea spray or having my cats further exposed to it than they need to be.We tried it on some of the cats themselves. They didn't mind it. For some of the cats, their coats were a little oily feeling afterwards, but for the most part their coats felt nice afterwards. We poured some of this product in a dish and put a live flea in it because we happened to catch one while combing a cat and it died within seconds of being submersed in it. If nothing else, this product made me feel a little peace of mind during the process of dealing with the fleas that is very hard to feel when they get this bad.
