Yes, When I got mine they included two bags of washers that were not in the case.

Q: Are the washer and Dryer safe?

I would say yes as many commercial stuffed animals have these. Just be careful about dryer heat so they don't melt

Q: Has anybody's kit come up short? I'm missing a bunch of noses and a few eyes.

I was missing a couple washers, but I’ve also bought this kit a couple times. I would contact the seller directly.

I used it on crocheted items, but an awl should work just fine.
