I love that it comes apart easily so that I can ...
Added 7/5/17: My grandson is now 19 months old. I would be lost without this play yard! I have purchased a second one so that I can make his play area larger. I also can use sets of panels to block off specific areas of my home to ensure he is safe, and to keep him out of things I do not want him in. I use a few to block off an area of my living room where I have all of my plants. I am also able to block him from the kitchen area when I am cooking. I now store it under the bed, so it really doesn't take up room when I am not using it. After using this now for about 9 months, I do wish the lock would be a bit easier for an adult to unlock with one hand; however, I do really like the fact that children cannot unlock it.... so I have to take the bit of inconvenience with a grain of salt, as I would rather the grandson be safe. This weekend we had 4 children here, aged 3 and 2 years old, and 19 and 13 months. It was nice to have the large play yard where they all could play together, and the adults weren't constantly having to tell the children to come back, or not to touch something, etc. Safety is number one for me, and their parents were rest assured no one was going to tumble down the steps or get underfoot while we cooked, etc. The 3 year old was able to climb over it. But, by the time my grandson is 3, I should hope he is trained as to what he can and cannot touch, etc. I expect to still use it as a deterent.Added 1/16/17: I have now used this play yard for a couple of months for my grandson, who is now almost 14 months old. I still like this play yard. I can easily take it apart for storage, to move from basement to upstairs, or to admust the size. We are now also using anywhere from 4 to 6 panels to block off the stairs and entryway into the kitchen... all at the same time. I can also stretch the panels into one line, and place it so that he cannot get to my plants and TV. The only negative is that we have to ensure it is placed in a way that it does not fall over when he holds onto it; and we have to place a dining room chair on each side of it; and for us, this is not a big issue. The area inside the yard when all panels are connected is large enough for him to play for a reasonable period of time; and most importantly, I can place him in the play yard when I need to use the bathroom, make lunch, get the laundry out of the washer, etc. Now that he is bigger and walking along the panels, he is able to move it when I have it placed on a set of foam panels because it slides. The suction cups do hold secure when placed on my linoleum floors.Original Post: I just received this the other day, and my grandson has used it now on one visit to my home. I purchased it because I care for him several days per week, and I want to ensure he is ultimately safe while in my care. I spent a lot of time comparing a variety of play yards. I ultimately bought this one because it is almost 2 inches taller than any other I found that also stands up straight and doesn't lean over. I have it placed on a foam mat, so it will slide a bit if the grandson pushes into it. I love that it comes apart easily so that I can take it down to store when he is not here, as well as to easily move into another room. My only concern is the 3 foam pieces which are on the activity panel (baby could take them off of the wall and potentially bite chunks off of them); however, I easily removed them. The negative is how much it costs. I paid it because I compared several different play yards, and this one seemed it would be the best option.
