As a toothpaste

This gets your mouth really super clean.

Either you love it or hate it. It was just what I remembered it to be and I was very pleased to find it.

As a non-Japanese, having used this stuff for maybe forty years, I can say it works well. It's fine black powder, so no whitening to it. But it's neutral to the stomach, smells neutral, tastes like salt only, and it works well for teeth - and gums big time, for me better than toothpaste I've tried. It doesn't stain, cleans from sink fairly easily with no staining. I've used it with electric toothbrushes and manually. All brands seem to be the same.update note: I've heard that it may be too abrasive for electric toothbrushes, in terms of wearing away enamel. I've used it mainly with a manual brush.further update: For the past fifteen years now I've used it with a manual brush (can't be beat for clearing up any gum sensitivity/soreness), and then brushed a second time using an electric toothbrush using just water. Better cleaning and no tooth sensitivity this way, I was told and found true.My dentist long ago noticed that my gums had gotten healthy.

Pretty good as a teeth whitener, much better than those over the counter at drug stores. Results were obvious.

The product is as promised, but I didn't look forward to cleaning the residue it leaves behind in the sink area after brushing.

I like it. Works good. It alkalizes the mouth. Taste is salty of course.
