An excellent read
Ok first here's a criticism: Sergey Baranov is not a native English speaker or writer and obviously he did not have much editorial help before sending the MS for publication, so the language is a bit raw. But that said I REALLY enjoyed the content. From my perspective there is much BS put out about the spiritual path and it is rare to find someone addressing this mysterious subject with such sincerity and from real lived experience.I especially liked the fact that he spends quite a lot of time talking about the world of fundamentalism and need to go beyond looking for answers from any kind of teacher or guru. In the end we are each our own teacher learning from our own experience. Everything else is second-hand.Then he goes on to argue that 'feel good' spirituality is not the real thing. He shows that you actually have to go through a lot of suffering up to and including coming very close to death to break through layers of conditioning and programming. Understandably most people don't want to do that so they settle for spirituality 'light' which is really only entry-level, but on the other hand everybody has to start somewhere.I also appreciated that he questions the mainstream dominant historical paradigm. The more I investigate the more I realise that so much that is taught as solid fact in academia is highly dubious. I don't have the full picture of reality concerning the history of this planet and the universe (who does?) but what I've figured out so far is way different from what is put out by the materialist scientific dogmas of status-quo thinking.I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in REAL shamanism, not the new age watered-down variety. There are answers to the deepest of spiritual questions and they are to be found in the ever-present intelligence that informs the natural world, out of sight but always available for the sincere seeker who follows his or her heart where it leads into the Great Mystery.

Expanded Consciousness
Sergey's account of his path towards wisdom and authenticity is one that has more than a few bumps along the way. What I loved about his book is that it is an honest description of his struggle and commitment towards finding his soul's work. Not a typical "growing up" story but one that is essentially about a man who feels a deep fire for something more and a willingness to pick up and start over multiple times, make mistakes, risk opening his heart and following his gut in order to find his heart song. In addition, loved reading about Inca traditions and the way of the shamans and plant healers. I recently took a trip to Peru that included some time with Sergey and ceremony with Huachuma (San Pedro plant). His ceremonies are of the highest integrity and professionalism and his devotion to his path as a huachumero is impressive. After reading his book I was better able to understand why he chose this path and the many events in his life that prepared him for it.

Awaken your inner awareness and expand your consciousnesses with this educational book.
There comes a time when we begin to wonder what is the purpose of our mortal lives? What is the true origin of our human existence on this planet called Earth? Do we walk the right kind of path and what is its final destination? Is there anything beyond this physical realm? Could there be something more meaningful and profound that we are obviously so blinded to see in this corrupted system of believes which enslaves us with no remorse all in the name of profit and power. Sergey, the author of this book, however, firmly refuses to accept false set of rules and ideology established by religious organizations, cults, mainstream media and etc., which manipulates and brainwashes people. Instead, he embarks on a journey to Peru to work with the sacred plants Ayahuaska and Huachuma and Peyote in Mexico where he explores and goes back deep into the roots of indigenous people and their ancient way of life. Sergey's compassionate and intuitive heart, his courage and wisdom has lead him to his final destination in Peru where he conducts Huachuama ceremonies and continues to inspire people with his story and educate those who desires to obtain spiritual enlightment. I highly recommend this book to anyone who refuses to live in a shadow and who seeks the truth in the world of lies and are in quest of its own spiritual healing and growth in a human form. This book will penetrate deep into your heart and inspire you to go on your own journey and willingness to share your story with the world.

Really Enjoyed the book
I really enjoyed this book. The author explores a few topics that I found really interesting: false gurus, plant medicine, living in multiple countries, navigating different cultures, love of the Earth and her inhabitants to name a few. This is the author's story and he tells it with refreshing honesty. Subjects such as living in a community that embraced a false guru and extracting oneself from that, I found particularly facinating. I have not read a first hand account like this before, and I appreciated his unflinching accounting of this. I think it would be instructive for anyone questioning if they might be involved with something similar. Sergey then shares his whole experience on the outer and inner planes, exploring plant medicine in the USA, Mexico and Peru. Again, instructive for those who have the inner calling for such exploration. This life changing experience brought him ultimately to Peru where he currently lives in the magic and wonder of the Andes. Wow....His story is laced with experiences of his deep connection with animals and his love of the planet. I so resonated with the themes in this book. The story reveals how one man's heart gets opened through his inner quest for deeper answers and his courage to do whatever it took to find them. The story has a happy ending....which I won't reveal here. Read the book. You will be opened too.

Recommended!!
This raw and honest work "came" to me at just the 'right' time as I feel I became slightly more aware of my on path, an increase in conscious decisions and actions. Following a short interview which featured Sergey on a social media video, and which synchronised with my active search for truth and an increase in interest for 'plant-healing' experiences, I ordered this book, and was totally absorbed by it and Sergey's very personal, seemingly genuine and insightful journey. Grateful for this honest work of his and his continuing effort to explore, experience and share with us his resonating sentiments on the world we live in. He delivers a somewhat sober assessment of 'reality' by lifting the veil on what the public at large are lead to believe. Path will take you on Sergey Baranov's brave adventure in uncovering truth, self-exploration, travel, cult, heartache, near-death experiences, a deeper connection with self and surroundings, medicinal plant healing and more. Recommended!!

This book is a wonderful read about Sergey Baranov's life in search for God ...
This book is a wonderful read about Sergey Baranov's life in search for God and Spirituality. It takes you from Russia, Israel, the States of America and finally high up in the Andes of Peru where he discovers San Pedro a sacred brew used by Shamans for thousands of years. It is here that Sergey's life was healed and transformed. One has to ask oneself why certain plants are called master teacher plants - a fascinating subject in itself which all of humanity should take notice. There's also a section on a Cusco museum which contains several mysterious elongated skulls (including some excellent photo's), which adds serious questions about our official view of history. I highly recommend this book to anyone already interested in spiritual matters and especially to those that are not - you never know, it might pave the way and lead you on a similar "Path".An excellent book and one we should all take the time to read.

ELTigre from the North
I've interviewed many people on many books and subjects for radio and this offering is jam packed with everyday thoughtful ways to live your life as you want to live it. Its obvious that the author has laboured and been kind enough to write down his travels and experiences so most people who are not afforded the luxury of being brave enough to venture past their front door can safely commit to reading and becoming better people for this planet as a whole right in their backyards. The insights are stellar and you are guided to becoming much more aware of your surroundings not necessarily to become a crusader and visionary as Mr Baranov is but to open up to your own truth, this is where this book is so potent and special. I highly recommend this as a work of "fiction" if you so desire, but I will be very clear on this subject, you will quickly see and assert its true merits and values and will start integrating these lessons into your own life! Read with an open heart and feel the call, I am very happy and pleased to have come across this body of work which will indeed act as The Path is so aptly named. I have had the pleasure since reading this book to have gone to Peru and meet and do ceremony with this Huachumero of generous integrity, a man of courage, insightfulness, exuberance and a joy for life, may you travel well Sergey. Blessings to you and your family. Thank You ; r )
