Rough Rack 4-8 Ski & Snowboard Ski Rack

The Rough Rack is awesome. It's strong and sturdy and easily holds a number of skis and snow shoes for me.I did need to use the alternative mounting instructions they provided as my studs did not align with the pre-built holes in the Rough Rack. This added more time to the installation process but only because of my wall.Be sure to have your drill ready for both the pre-drilling of the screw holes as well as the actual screwing in of the supplied screws (via your own drill bit/attachment) - you will NOT be able to hand tighten these.

perfect for what it needs to do. i heat shrinked the metal bars before use to prevent any scuffing of ski top sheets (as others have mentioned). comes with easy to follow instructions and hardware. i only could get two studs to hit in my apartment but that is more than enough for the 4-5 pairs of skis i have in it. very well made and will last forever. a tiny bit industrial looking, but i feel as though it's meant more for a garage than inside your home. 10/10 will recommend for anyone looking to get their equipment off the ground!

If you want a steel plate with 4 sets of steel bars welded to it, that is what you will get.But, I ordered a ski rack, and as a ski rack this leaves much to be desired:1. Your skis will pull apart from each other at the tails unless you have them strapped together. This is a problem with all racks of this design, but could be overcome by hanging the skis at the bindings, but the bars are not spaced wide enough.2. As mentioned before, the bars are welded very closely together, too close << EDIT: I should say, not quite right >> for modern rockers skis. I'm afraid that the bars will deform the shape of my tips over time.3. The rack is made in USA, but it's a lot to pay for what it is. Call me crazy if I don't think that "Made in USA" is an excuse for "really expensive". So yeah, I could have just not bought it if I thought it was overpriced, but as this is my review, I will give my subjective opinion - The rack underwhelming.Some nice aspects of the rack, and why it gets 3 stars:1. The bars are long. Long enough for a ultra-wide snowboard or two sets of wide skis.2. Build quality is what I would expect. Even paint coat and welded straight.3. Rack is clearly very strong. Especially when using 3 lag bolts into studs. It can hold a lot of weight.Bottom line- You should know that you are buying a metal plate with 3 holes drilled in it, and 4 sets of bars welded to it. That's it. I know... what was I expecting??Edited for clarity and added further details after using rack for a few weeks. Star score remained the same.

Bought this wall unit to store 8 pairs of skis. It heavy duty steel and does the job well. SIzed well for 8 skis pairs, or 4 snowboards, or 6 ski pairs with poles. Attachment bolts are heavy duty but need to be anchored well. I attached it to hardwood board that is bolted into the studs just to give the good grip on the wall as its a lot of weight. Only downside with the design is the pegs that hold the ski put pressure on the ski tips causing them to flex together, causing the middle of the skis to flex outward from each other. Not sure if there would be a negative effect over time from this. My solution was to wrap velcro around the middle of the skis to hold them tight together to maintain shape.

This rack is excellent! It took me awhile to mount it properly as I wanted to be absolutely certain I was fastening into studs. You absolutely MUST have a stud finder and know how to use it to install this rack. The installation is not difficult but must be done properly because the rack is heavy by itself and will be even heavier once you put your skis on it. However, once it is properly installed it is absolutely rock solid and a great way to store your skis and get them up off the floor. Highly recommended!

This thing is great, its quite sturdy and easy to install once you find your studs. No more big pile of skis and boards lying in the corner. Like others said, it's kinda expensive for what it is. But until I go buy a welder and make my own, I'll have to pay the big bucks.

I bought one of these racks and liked it so well I bought another. They are very well made and as an added bonus they are American made. My studs were not position to match the holes on the racks so I needed to use the alternative hanging method. There were clear instructions on how to do this but I did need to buy an extra board and some hardware. (I posted a picture above). I have hung skis with rockered tips and a regular camber center without any problem. I noticed some people saying that rockered skis won't fit. I assume they mean fully rockered skis as mine fit just fine. I have also used it to hang snowshoes and cross country skis. The cross country skis don't fit quite as well.

Well built - but poses a real danger to anyone who might stumble into it.
