Use clean corn
Works very well must use clean corn , the twigs get stuck in the motor and keeps it from working. Most of these units are the same with needing clean corn.

Had for 4 months hasn’t worked
We ordered this back in July and it has only worked on its own once. Every time it’s done anything it has been empty and on test mode. You set the program for the number of feeds and how long to spin the motor for, leave, come back and no food has been thrown, none missing from feeder. Called customer support to try to warranty the item. They wanted us to jump through hoops we’ve been jumping through since the first time we noticed it wasn’t working. Do you have the right battery? Yes we had the correct battery. Did you read the instructions when setting up? Yes, read them every time I mess with the thing. Your product is subpar at best, lazy at worst. You did not design this product with the weight of the food bearing down on the spin plate in mind. I can pinch the middle post between two fingers and it doesn’t even twitch. If I could give this negative 10 stars I would. You do not stand behind your product, you do not support your customers. Products like this make Amazon look bad

We love our feeder!
We have a small pond with a few catfish, bluegill, and a ton of minnows. We tried the cheap and easy way with something else…but it did not work how we wanted it to. I eventually purchased this feeder since we already had two Moultrie deer feeders, and we are not disappointed. The fishies love it too!***TIPS***•Place your feeder as close to the water, or as far in the water as you can. The food gets thrownt, but some does not go as far. So this will help make sure all food lands in the water.•This does not come with a battery. So make sure you have one or buy one before setting it up.•It takes a few “test runs” to get the food down into the chute. So don’t expect it to throw food on the first run.

Easy set up
After sending 2 back....one cracked barrel..and one with broken internal wiring ...finally got this one up and running. Works as should. Got solar w/internal battery and additional battery. Using it for pond.....had to bury legs to anchor....and set on high...still doesn't eject far enough to get entire feed into water....but, works.

Accessories you will need
This feeder does not come with a Battery. Don’t cut corners and buy a cheap battery. Buy the Moultrie battery, it provides the correct mAh to dispense the feed. Other reviewers complaining that the feeder will not disperse the feed when filled completely full surely would had better results with s stronger battery.Feeder also does not come with Feet for legs. You will need these feet to prevent feeder legs from sinking into the ground.Thid is my second Moultrie feeder, and it have served me well. Based upon my experience, there are additional accessories the I needed to add.Moultrie Solar powered battery charging panel. It will not keep the battery charged, but it will certainly make it last longer.Moultrie battery charger. For when the battery runs down, you can charge it up fully inside your home.Moultrie Varmint Guard. The critters, specifically Raccoons, are relentless. They will chew through the discharge chute and anything else plastic they can find to get to the feed. This will keep them out.
