Original one star review:Came in the mail the other day and I was really excited to try them until I saw one was broken.I did not want to use them as one of the chisels turned up in the mail broken and didn't want to void any warranty or try to fix it until getting confirmation that nothing could be done. These are brand new and should come in full operable factory condition, after years of heavy use I could see them splitting but not showing up broken.The shipping and storage box showed up in amazing condition though! This leads me to believe that it was broken before getting put in the wooden box. My guess is going with assembly line lack of quality control as other lower reviews have the same issue.Outside of the broken part, they do feel pretty sturdy, nice handles, and appear sharp. They come with a protective wax over the pre-installed carbide tip so that was impressive. The storage box is pretty decently built and padded so that is a plus.I sent the seller a message here on Amazon and will be glad to update this review pending their customer service.Update 9/20/22:I am holding to my word to update the original review and I just have to give them 5 stars for their customer support. Everything was seamless and ran through with absolutely no issues.The seller was amazingly fast, very understanding, and extremely polite. Customer service was top notch and the replacement tools came in just a few days.According to my husband, who they were originally for, said that they were nice and tight, nothing broken, and cuts like a hot knife through butter!Same packaging as before, very secure, no dings or issues, came in a padded box, and everything was neatly put inside.He makes pens and other things out of acrylic and has been wanting a carbide negative rake chisel set for some time. The pictures of his finished products speak for themselves on how much better and efficient these are when he is shaping acrylics on his lathe.I highly recommend them as a seller, and my husband definitely recommends the tools as he loves these chisels. I just cannot tell you how much I believe that the seller legitimately cares about customer satisfaction, and it definitely shows.Overall very satisfied!

I have not yet used these as the ferrules arrived split. I am aware that the product has a warranty, but couldn;t see shipping it back for a problem I could deal with, so I used epoxy and copper wire and replaced the ferrules, just waiting for the epoxy to set and we'll see how I like them. The appearance is great, everything was as advertised, and the box they come in sure classes up my work space!

I tried wood turning in high school 50 years ago and decided that it would be something I’d try again now. Bought a small bench top lathe and a very inexpensive set of HSS turning tools. I did okay with them but there is a learning curve attached to each of those tools as far as tool rest height and angle of the tool meeting the piece. Ordered this four tool set of carbide tools the same day I brought the lathe home. When this set came in I couldn’t wait to get them to the lathe and try them. I had watched a lot of YouTube videos about carbide tools and I followed the advice to have the tool rest back more than normal with the other tooling and the tool set at the center line and parallel to the floor. That’s exactly how they work best and I turned the mallet in no time while trying all four tools. Highly recommend this set for beginners. The only real downside to this set was the box they arrived in had been handled pretty rough. The outside packing box had no damage but the box that contained the tools was very cracked up, tools were not damaged at all. I contacted the seller and they responded very quickly and are ready to give me a special deal on any future purchase. Great company support and great tools!

These are much cheaper than other carbide tipped tools. I bought them for shaving down stone inlays in the rings I turn on my lathe. I know the stones were going to ruin the edges quickly. I am very impressed how sharp they have remained even after using on stones that are harder. I have even started using them on the acrylics I turn for my pens--they work great AND they come with spare blades. The negative rake makes turning non-wood products so much easier. Very impressed by these. Very happy with my purchase.

The media could not be loaded.  These metal collars are called ferrules and they are an important part of keeping this item together. During times when the blade is shocked by the process of cutting wood the energy can travel up and split the wood handle of the tool and send the cutting part of the tool flying. The ferrule creates a strong connection to prevent the handle splitting. They used very low quality material in this part of the process and the natural expansion of the wood has shattered the metal ferrules. I was willing to accept if maybe one of them was damaged but all four are completely split.EDIT 1/30/2023:I decided to keep these and rework them, as I needed the tools and have the machinery to make new handles and ferrules. The seller worked with me to resolve my issue. Their customer service is good and quick, even with many time zones between us. Thanks to Becky from speedforceUSA for working with me.

Great tools at an affordable price, and customer service was fast and fair! I ordered the 4pcs set, when it arrived the pear cutter was shattered to pieces (they put a protective rubber on the blades to protect them but apparently UPS rose to the challenge). I emailed their customer service and got an almost immediate reply with a more than fair proposal.The tools themselves are very nice and work well, especially for the price! I recommend giving them a shot if you are like me and want to try carbide tools for the first time without spending a small fortune. I have only used them for a couple days now and still love my HSS tools but these are a great addition and will see plenty of good use in my shop!

Awesome bigger than the picture shows . Work great on epoxies

I use it for woodturning, the only problem is getting replacement inserts and screws.
