The Beach assortment of BonBons is 100% cotton. The other assortments vary. :-)

Q: This isn't yarn; it's closer to floss. Amazon should change the description, right?

If you got the “beach” set, you’re right. It is more like thick embroidery floss than yarn. I have “brights”, “crayons”, “celebrate”, “pastels”, and “beach”. They aren’t all the same. They’re all similar weight, but those in the “beach” set are not yarn-like, but are, rather very much like a 1.5 thick floss, very smooth, no fuzz, no stretch. The “pastel” are on the other end of the spectrum, quite soft and fuzzy. The “brights” are pretty soft, not quite as soft or fuzzy as the “pastels”. The “crayons” may be slightly rougher and, oddly, actually brighter than the “brights” (the pink, yellow, orange, and green are positively neon). The “celebrate” is comparable to “brights” and “crayons” but have the added metallic thread weaved in. Hope that helps.

Q: What ply is this yarn?

I search every where and did not find a ply. But looking at it it looks like 4.. I unraveled an end of 1 tiny skein. And counted 4. Its very light weight. And very soft. Hope that helps
