Chips Volume 1: Season Two 1978-79 (Original Television Soundtrack)

This is lots of fun! Since I have seen each CHiPs episode over 15 times each (for reasons that are not as odd as it seems. My sons love CHiPs, so why not?) I coudn't resit this odd gem. Sound quality is excellent, liner notes are very informative and the package is a limited edition collector's run of 3000. I am not sure they can even sell 3000, but it is still at some level special.THe highlight for me is the disco tune from the episode where Ponch does his little Travolta number before delivering a baby with John on the dance floor. That's right. You remember that one. M.G. Kelly was teh rockin' d.j. in a big golden bowl held by massive hands with his frood side-kick buddy. Anyway, you get the point. This is about fun times and being a little silly. Still not ready to buy the disc. Then see how you answer this question: "Is it wrong that I fly down the highway passing cars and shifting lanes for no reason other than to match the music on the CD?" If you say, "No, that is awesome!" then you need to get this disc put out by Warner's Film Score Monthly before number 3000 says "code four on this one".

I am seeing Chips for the first time right now as it airs on METV. We own the 1st and 2nd seasons and would own more but they haven't come out yet:( But, having seen seasons 1-3, the best music I think is from Season 2. I love this CD!! Pure disco music and fun!!!

Been waiting for this CD all my life! Great "CHiPs" car chase music to a disco beat! Lively music that is never dull...brings back memories of Jon and Ponch on patrol with Grossie, Bear, Jeb, Bonnie, Harlan, and Sergeant Getraer and 60s and 70s vintage cars flipping over, crashing, and getting blown up. A must buy for tv show fans!

One day, I'm gunna play this music while driving on the road...or not, when I think how my imagination runs away with me. I'd go from zero to "What are those colored lights doing behind me?" in one track. Soooo much stock-disco *action!* never hit me so hard! Mr. Silvestri proves that even shovel-disco takes a mountain of skill and can be compelling and emotional when done right. And if the sound gets too powerful and enervating (as it occasionally may,) just listen to a few tracks and stop

What's there to say? if you like this kind of music, you'll love this CD. If not, you won't. I'm thrilled to death that it was released. I hope they do more obscure soundtrack music like this. I'm a fan of this stuff.

Get on to an open road, press "play" and you are riding along the California freeway's with Jon and Ponch, I love it!!

This CD is good but it would have been better had it included the John Parker main and end titles from the first season. I mean, he did write the theme, for Pete's sake.
