Yes you can, the "Rock Bar" (but not all Bormioli Rocco) glasses are made of tempered glass, which is resistant to both thermal and mechanical shock. The manufacturer says they may be used in the microwave to max 110° C, max 230° F.

Q: Are these small enough around to be a good glass for children to hold? Or are they too wide for a child's hand?

Actually they re smaller than I needed. However I probably wouldn't use these glasses for a child. They are rather weighty and might be awkward for a child to hold.
