Tangible Results!
The two pressing issues when it comes to sharpening knives is time and technique. Prior to purchasing the AnySharp, I had always assumed to sharpen knives would be time consuming and technically challenging. This product removes all those variables. The blades are preset at 20 degrees, the sharpener suction cups to any smooth surface, it requires just a straight pulling stroke backwards, and repeated until desired sharpness is achieved. In a matter of 30 minutes I sharpened all the knives in our knife block (12 variable sized knives), 5 of my hunting knives, and even sharpened a few pair of scissors we have around the house. As you sharpen, you can see metal flakes coming off your knife blade. Most knives were sharp to touch and passed the paper cutting test within 8 strokes, maximum 16 strokes for any knife. Knives went from not being able to cut paper on its edge, to smooth 4” slice within this fore mentioned stroke count. This is a game changer product. I am not endorsed or paid for this in any way. I am impressed with this product.

Easy to Use and Works Well - IOW, just what I look for in my kitchen
I'm not a gadget person, and I have a small kitchen. That said, I also love to cook, and I Like Nice Stuff. I wanted to be able to maintain my nice knives, but to avoid injuring myself in the process. Knife sharpening is kinda not my thing. Anyway, read reviews, did research, and decided three things:1. Send my knives to be sharpened in Sauk City, WI.2. Buy two knives to use while my knives are being sharpened (I decided on the 5" utility and 6" chef's from Mercer and highly recommend both - I'll use them even when my newly sharpened knives come back). And then the reason for this review:3. Buy a sharpener to maintain the edges on my new Mercers along with my Global, Wustof, etc. I chose this one. I'd suggest you do, too.

Basic sharpener
Small and easy to use. This sharpener works very well for dull knives. However, it only has one sharpener for coarse but nothing for finishing. Good to have around.

Simply the easiest to use Knife sharpener out there!
Just place the Sharpener on the counter, pull down the lever, and it’s now securely in place. I tested it and it was no way I can remove it. Once it is in place you take the knife or even scissors that you wish to sharpen, and just glide them along the sharpening groove in the direction of the arrow about 3-4 times, and your blades edge is like new!Note: after shopping you blades Vince them on the water to make sure there’s no filings left on the blade. It’s as easy as that and you will be thankful you do not have to buy new knives, or you don’t have to buy a new pair of scissors!

Pretty good job - not as good as an oil stone
I have a Henkel's knife that was so dull it wouldn't even cut celery that I haven't used in a couple of years. I have a Norton pro 3 way oil stone but it needs a good de-gooping if you know what I mean and the first 2 stones are in need of replacement because they are no longer flat and do more harm than good. I've had it since '79 and it was used when I got it and not sure at my age I want to mess with it. Anyway I ran that knife through my new sharpener and it did a pretty good job. It didn't get rid of a few actual small nicks in the blade and it left a weird wave in the metal that I can actually see w/ the naked eye. Definitely needed a good de-burring which my steel did take care of. BUT - after saying all that to explain why it didn't get a 5 - I used that knife to make dinner. So all in all I have to say it did what it promised. For the average kitchen this will be a great sharpener.
