I want to Thank Amazon for having this Made in Germany Treat that I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying since I was in Germany back in the early 1980's . I would say that they are better than the Chunky candy square .

expires in one month--next time I will request an expiration date! I don't plan to eat all 12 bars by the end of next month.

I'm a big fan of Ritter Sport chocolate and have tried many of their flavors which are typically high in quality and well integrated. I had not seen the rum, raisin and hazelnut in any store and couldn't resist trying some as it sounded great. Unfortunately, this one is a rare miss. The rum flavor is dramatically strong--the second you open the package, the smell of cheap rum dominates, and the flavor of the rum strongly overwhelms all other ingredients. It's really unpleasant and shockingly unbalanced. The raisin, nut, and chocolate are seemingly there only for texture.A friend described the flavor and smell as every bad decision she ever made in high school lol, and although I can't relate to that specifically, I can say this stuff tastes objectively bad. I can't believe Ritter Sport put this one out. At the very least, they need to cut the rum flavor back by probably two thirds. I think dark chocolate would have been better than milk because the milk when combined with the rum is way too sweet. Personally, I'd have additionally preferred brandy (or even bourbon) over rum, and much more subtle at that.While I highly recommend most all other Ritter Sport flavors I've ever tried, this one is a total dog. I don't recommend it at all.

This is probably one of the best non-Swiss products I have ever found. Since the Swiss won’t export rum-raisin any more, and I’m not even sure Sprüngli even makes it any more, this satisfies my need for good chocolate when I run out of stuff from home.

I never thought I'd think this but the rum flavoring is quite strong and overpowering the chocolate.

Ever since I was stationed in Germany, this has been one of my favorite chocolates. Never disappoints!
