This thing gave me a lot of trouble assembling...
Liked the price, simplicity, and compactness. But two of the four cross-bars each had a screw anchor in the end that was extremely difficult, even though I was very careful not to cross-thread. I had to grab the heads of both screws with pliers and muscle them in, which, of course, meant chewing up the metal of the screw heads and scratching the paint on the poles around the screw. Also, there were supposed to be plastic crescent spacers in the hardware package, but they were missing. (I don't think it makes any functional difference, but it might have made the junction a little tidier.) What I did get was an extra hook that I didn't need.

The metal material is good and solid for the price of $22
The metal material is good and solid for the price of $22.48. I use it while ironing in the living room and transport ironed cloths to the bedroom without moving the rack. As with any other rack it should not be moved with cloths on it. This may be the main reason that people complain about parts breaking or rack collapsing because of the weight of the cloths. When the rack is empty then I fold it for storage. If you are impatient assembling things, then I recommend getting someone to help, you putting it together. Fold and tape the instructions to the frame, and don't peel off the part numbers in case you may have to disassemble it for travel or if you move. And yes as another reviewer mentioned, one of the legs is shorter than the other, but not by much. Just stick something under the short leg and move on. Improvise. At home, away from home, or on the job, it is recommended one learn to improvise to keep one's sanity, for safety, and to keep a cool head. If plan "A" doesn't work go to plan "B," and if "B" doesn't work go to plan "C." If "C" doesn't work, pray. Actually assembling the rack was an easy "A." I recommend this rack for the price. If you want to load a rack with a lot of cloths, or for storage of cloths then I recommend a more expensive, sturdier rack.

I still don't know when this arrived but I was sure glad to see it
In one of my notes to you I said that I had not yet received the Folding Clothes Rack. I wrote this note after the delivry date had expired by a number of days. I need to apologize for this statement because I was undoubtedly wrong. We had had our community mailboxes raided and so we changed out deliveries by using the street address would be needed for a package this size---no doubt that it would not fit into any box at the Post Office. However, when we inquired they told us that all mail/packages are to be directed to our little P.O. Box. Who knew???? I still don't know when this arrived but I was sure glad to see it. !!! My husband picked it up and put it together the very same day. This drying rack is used all the time. Folded, it is stored between my freezer and dryer. the clothes are takes out of the dryer after 10 minutes if drying time and dries outside. With a gentle breeze, my knit t- shirts are dry in no time at all are ready to put on---no wrinkles!!! There are times when I use this rack to hold strips of 1-2" of material for rag rugs or strip quilting. It will hold up for a number of years and was patched up several times because strong winds knocked it over. Soooo, we patched it up until we could not anymore. I would cry if this was discontinued--I just love it!!! Thank you , Miles Kimble for continuing to sell this. Fuzzhead

Sturdy enough- easy assembly
Bought this to replace one we’ve had a very long time. Assembly went well EXCEPT it instructed me to “be sure to include one cresent plastic spacer on each side of the crosspiece before attaching to the poles” there were NO CRESENT PLASTIC SPACERS. Our previous one did have them - unfortunately we threw it out before this one arrived or I could have canabilized those. Seems sturdy enough for now. Hope I get half the life out of this as I did the last one.

perfect for drying laundry
OK, i am truly puzzled by the negative reviews of this clothes rack. First of all, i found it very easy to assemble following the included instructions, and i am a woman who is not mechanically inclined. I bought it for drying laundry, and it's perfect for this, having enough space to dry one regular wash load. I did not find it unbalanced at all, but i understand that you have to hang things on BOTH sides for it to be stable. [DUH, come on people use your head for something besides a hat rack!] It folds easily and small enough to fit behind a door, under a bed or in a closet - i fold mine and put it behind a dresser in a walk in closet. It's not meant for hanging a lot of heavy things on, like coats or blankets, but it works very well for regular clothes - blouses, dresses, slacks, etc. If you want something light weight for drying laundry or hanging ironing on, this is perfect, Yes i would buy it again, and yes i would recommend it to a friend.UPDATE May 30 2018- Had this for nearly a year and use it at least once a week - still no problems with it.

Average at best
This is very unstable and poorly designed structure and is readily easy for collapse if not properly balanced with hanging clothing on both sides. When you start hanging clothing on the the rack it weaves and bobs like an X in human form swaying both of its shoulders back and forth. There is no stability at the central core on either side despite the latches intended for such purpose. I miss the white laundry rack from The Container Store, made by Household Essentials, that was slighter taller and wider than this in a bright white, not beige, and made of lighter materials, yet still very stable in comparison, with push down bar lock joints at each side in the center core. This rack I can say is average and can still do the job but it could be better, as it it could be more stable and a foot or two wider. You can not fit more than 8 pieces on each side and I would say it’s better as a place to hang ironed or ready to go clothing and not wide enough for use as a drying rack.

Missing spacers.
I have had one like this for years and love it so wanted one for my summer home. However, this one was missing the spacers and was difficult to assemble. It took two of us to complete. We were going on a long trip so we did not have time to return it.
