Did the job
Cheap but did the job. I think the size I need to use didn’t quite fill the circular cup inset of the brass valve. Also I felt I had to use a mouse tail file to widen the hole of the washer. Forcing it over the screw mount felt I would split the rubber as others had mentioned. With this advice, I’d say you have solution but is suppose you get what you pay for. The tap no longer drops though, so it did the job.

A bit hard!
A bit on the firm side so you have to turn the tap off with more force to stop drips! On the hot tap they become softer with the hot water and make a better seal!
