Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Kit Compatible With 96-04 Mercedes SLK 230 Convertible Top R170

This kit is perfect fit for my SLK. Labor intensive to install. Dealer wanted more than $3k to repair. My labor, kit, and hydraulic fluid cost less than $100.

I got these to fix the front hydraulic that started leaking and kill the convertible top. I got the install instructions in the SLK Forum. All you need is to take everything apart and drill a hole on the hydraulic to pop the lock holding everything together.a year later the other 2 hydraulics (the ones by the rear window pillars started leaking a bit and fixed too before the top stoped functioning. I have the last 2 Orings for the one that lift the trunk backwards. My car is an old 1999 slk2230

Seals seem to hold good, it is a challenge to change them but it has nothing to do with the seals themselves. They dont look like originals, nevertheless they fit just fine. Syringe and thebtube are a bit of a joke, but if you dont have anything better, they will work

A waste of money and time! Several Mercedes owner website mentioned this product for the repair. Make the order, completed the repair and I had hydraulic fluid shooting out when I tried to secure the top. The repair was completed as per Mercedes instruction but this product will NOT fix the problem.
