Heart Wounds (A Miranda and Parker Mystery Book 2)

I like the way the author writes. This series is great and I love the characters Miranda and Parker. You will be hooked on this story.

Pros:Miranda and Parker are wonderful characters and the series is superb!Lisey Lanier is a master storyteller!I enjoy books set in another country! While I don't know the areas mentioned and places, I'm exposed to another culture! I also think readers in the UK, or New Zealand or wherever must enjoy having a story close to home!Miranda's growth over the previous 6 books is uplifting! While she is still prickly, stubborn, inpulsive and hates to be subservient; she is also intuitive, gifted, strong, tough and showing some compassion for others!The antiquities angle was fascinating and the plotline was complex and well layered!Mild spoilers!Cons:I feel violated by the author, she cannot simply change normative qualities ingrained in the characters! Behaviors and personalities honed over 6 plus books can't be dismissed without breaking trust with the reader!Parker is never RecklessLeaving Miranda in the dark (to protect her) always turns out poorly!Miranda will always rush into the fray, so it's impossible to "protect" her by deciet!Parker would not walk into a trap without a plan and never be caught unawares!Miranda finding Parker is a given, not suspenseful!Miranda may be more kindhearted but is not emathetic especially to people she does not like! While she secretly has a good heart, she could never feel for so many people, may of whom caused their own misery!

The author kept you wondering just who was the person who committed the crime until the very end. She would drop a hint and point the finger at one character and just a few lines later another clue pointed to someone else. I never figured out "who done it". The ending was a complete surprise to me.Wonderful book!

Omg! I loved this book. I am going to continue reading all the books in the series. They are so well written, and they keep you in suspense!!

I love the Miranda & Parker series but not this particular book. It is set in England and I'm not a fan of books set in England or other foreign lands. It's just the odd vernacular, customs, royality etc. Some may find it interesting. I do not. I started it and stopped in the second chapter. Another reviewer said it started slow and took off after chapter 2 so I gave it another try. Got to chapter 15 through alot of pain and not much enjoyment. Life is too short. On to another book I hopefully will enjoy.

When I first began this book, I wasn't sure this would be as good as the last ones. I was wrong. It was definitely a good mystery and held my attention.Parker and Miranda are headed to England. An old friend of Parker's dad is the head of a museum and a priceless Egyptian dagger used by Marc Anthony was stolen.In an effort to protect Miranda, Parker makes a foolish judgement call . To find out what it was , you have to read this book.Lindsey Lanier is a master story teller. One thing that bothered me nothing was ever said how the police handled Davinia's part in all this.Can't wait to find out who keeps texting Miranda " I know where you are?" On to the next book!

It isn't hard to like Mr. Parker and Ms. Steele. They have a very loving yet at odds relationship. Once again you see them work in sync to solve the crime involving a dear friend. Predictable but still entertaining.

Wow.. More mystery and drama! I loved it! I love all of the Miranda and Parker mystery books. I was hooked from the very first book. I love all the characters and I love the way you write the stories. 😎

They keep you guessing right up to the very end.....and then pull you into the intrigue of the next adventure. Plus I just have to read Book 1 now to add more pieces to the puzzle of Miranda and Parker!

Brilliant read, lots of twists and turns. You think you know who it is and whoosh you haven’t. Keeps you gripped from beginning to end.

I enjoyed parts of this novel. Not a fan of making police/authorities look incompetent to make the story.
