I ordered this product thinking it would cut the cake into portions. Yeah, user error, I squashed my cheesecake. lol Basically it's just to make guidelines so you can use an actual knife to cut the cake into portions. It's not sharp enough to actually cut clean portions of cake. Very easy to use once you understand it's not used to actually cut with it. It's made of plastic, not metal, decent quality.

I liked that it marked even slices. It was easy to use but it didn't come with any instructions. Used it on a coconut cake and it worked perfectly but when I used it on a cake with chocolate frosting it took the whole top of the cake off when I lifted it off. Not sure what happened as there were no instructions with the product. Will still try to use it and figure out how to use it without messing up the cake top.

I don't know why have bought one sooner. This does not cut however it leaves nice clean lines on your cakes, cheesecakes etc, so you can cut even slices. If you are thinking about it, stop and pull the plug. I promise you will not regret it. You can use on any size roundcake, cheesecake etc.

This was a user error purchase. The description of the product starts out ... "Cake Portion Marker Cake Cutter Slicer Cheesecake Cutter ..." The word "Slicer" is what threw me off. I guess the word "Cutter" might have as well. I actually thought it would slice or cut the cakes, etc. It doesn't. It simply marks the top of the cakes and such so that you might more accurately cut them yourself. Useful, I suppose, but not what I was shooting for. I gave mine to the Goodwill Store. It's sure to find a more appreciative home than mine.

This item can mark you slices but is not a cutter.
