If I could do it all again ....... I'd just let myself be trampled to death by the satan pig
This title being the funniest line in the book. It's a good job I was at home when I read it becausehad I been in a public place, it could've been very embarassing!!John Green in my eyes is a little genius, there hasn't been one of his books that I haven't thoroughlyenjoyed. Katherines is not my personal favourite of his but it still deserves 5 stars for being funny, original, heartwarming and because he creates characters that are truly three dimentional, none are the sameas another (a problem with some authors)In this book we meet Colin, who yes is quite pathetic and needy and sometimes a little annoying with hiswhining, but inside is a genuinely nice guy who has the guts to admit that he just wants to be lovedand he just wants to matter. Don't we all? Not such bad qualities to have and yet for some reason he keepsgetting dumped and he can't understand why. So he has his Eureak moment (Colin is something of a childprodigy/possible future genius) he realises that he may be able to predict the path of a relationship usinga mathematical formula. I'm going to stop there, I didn't get the math, I didn't dislike it or wish it hadn'tbeen there (it was part of the story and not over done) but I didn't understand it. No matter, I will take theword of Colin that it worked! The story did seem to lose and then pick up pace along the way but in thesecond half really got going and I was unable to put it down. Green has a real knack for creating worldsand people and making them come alive and the fact that his writing is laugh out loud funny is a huge bonus.I look forward, rather impatiently to his next book, The Fault in Our Stars which I have already pre-orderedto get a signed copy! Ony have about a week left to wait now!

Not as polished as TFIOS, but still hillarious!
This book could only be described as hilarious, witty and extraordinarily clever! It wasn't quite as good as The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns or Looking For Alaska... But it still justifies John Green being one of my favourite YA authors! Each page brought another laugh, another insight into Collin's intellect and another witty footnote! The plot was simple, but effective... But this was because the characters were really what made the tale... So, here we have a washed up child prodigy and his Judge Judy-obsessed best mate going on a road trip... What could possibly go wrong? I've said it before, and I'll say it again... John Green is a genius! Colin as a character is extremely unique; how many other book characters do you know who have tried to prove 'The Theorem of the Underlying Katherine Predictability'? Despite his nerdish antics (but hey, nerds are the best!), Colin was a very relatable character... I might even go as far as to say, he's one of my all-time favourite characters! But unfortunately, and there's often a downside to most books, An Abundance of Katherines was written in a fairly confusing way... Unlike other John Green books, it didn't flow off the page as nicely... But if you give it a bit of time and patience, you get used to it! I still thoroughly recommend.

Not Green's best but great anyway
I first discovered John Green while reading 'Looking for Alaska' and after finishing that book promptly bought everything else he had written. He is an extremely talented author but out of his collection I have to admit this was my least favourite. I just didn't click as well with Colin as I did with previous protagonists. I feel as if the characters in this book were just not as well written as say Margo in Paper Towns. That being said... it is still a very interesting and entertaining book. As with all Green novels you learn a lot of little facts along the way and the novel is well paced. The characters are quirky and the section with the feral pig had me crying with laughter on the train.Definitely worth a read!

Lighthearted and readable.
An Abundance of Katherines has a different feel to John Green's other solo works. Perhaps it's the lack of tragedy.I personally enjoyed the change. I found the novel funny, extremely readable, and lighthearted. Colin's relationship with his best friend, Hassan, was probably my favourite thing about the story.

Not Johns best, but still good
The initial storyline is this book was interesting, but I couldn't relate to Colin at all, and he's the main character. The only reason I don't think I related though was because I'm not so smart and he is a genius. However, after reading it I am still trying to work out how do the relationship theory. The story will stick with me and some of the random facts will, like the 'hurricane' in your showers haha.
