Living in Los Angeles - and finishing the 3rd Low-Rainfall Season in a Row, during about 20 years of relative Drought - I wanted to capture what rain DID Fall in our 2023 Season...my 2 current rain barrels Wouldn't Cut It.Bought 2 finished barrels (still needing top-inlet holes drilled) plus clean side holes to install hose-bib valves & connector hoses.The hole-saws I either bought at hardware stores, or received with other valve- & connectir hose kits were of low quality/rapidly dulling & increasingly wobbly.THEN I received this kit; the hose is highly kink-resistant, the 'thru-bulkhead' fittings were Properly made (2 from a lesser product had lousy (barely half-depth) external threads). and the gaskets & washers are extra-thick, to accommodate the compound-curved bodies of most water barrels.I'd choosing this kit for it's woven steel hose to withstand hot Summers - but what Blew Me Away was the FINELY-Designed & Well-Made hole-saw it included.The saw's 3 precision cutting blades - embedded in a preci

I have an EarthMinded rain barrel and the rubber fittings in the bottom two holes had gotten hard and started leaking. I'm not a fan of those awful rubber fittings, since they start leaking after only a couple of years. So I looked long and hard for brass fittings that would fit the 1 1/8" holes in my rain barrel. These looked like they might work and I'm relieved that they fit fine, with no leaks around the fittings. Time will tell whether the silicone washers will hold up.My only complaint is leakage from the threaded male connections. I attached a plastic garden hose cap to the top fitting and a plastic Y connector (with valves) to the bottom fitting. I used new rubber washers for both. When the barrel filled up, there was leakage from both fittings. One drop about every 5 seconds, which was a lot. Since the barrel was full of water, I didn't want to empty it and start over. So I decided to loosen both the cap and the splitter and wrapped the threads several times with teflon tape. That seems to have stopped the leaks for now. I wonder if the male threads aren't meant for plastic caps and splitters.I did not use the stainless steel pipe or drill bit. But they're nice to have around.

Great product quality. Easy to install and the metal tube is easy to flex. I especially like the soft silicon washers.

The brass fittings are fine but the gaskets are slick and make it difficult to get both the fitting and hose tight. The connecting hose is poor quality and leaks. I will have to buy a different hose, so, in the end, I would have been better off getting a better product in the first place. The drill bit is 27mm, which is 1.06 inches. This means the fitting is a bit loose. Better to use a true 1 inch drill bit if you have one.

Easy to install, good quality and most of all no leaks! Would recommend.

Bought this to connect 2 rain barrels together. Especially needed the hole saw.The fittings were well made, and the hole saw worked awesome this made it worth the cost of purchase.However, the nuts on the end of the connecting hose (really a flexible corrugated stainless tube) would not thread onto the brass fittings.I'm a former machinist and a mechanical engineer. I believe they they failed to account for the thickness of the platting that reduced the size of the internal threads. Although usually these type of hose fittings have more thread clearance so maybe something else is going on there.In any case, I purchased as separate washing machine hose for $10 which will work just fine.

The gaskets are inadequate and will not seal regardless of effort put in.
