Very useful energy and electrolyte kick for arduous hiking trips and expeditions.
First thoughts:ProsNice fruit flavour.Easily consumed.Relatively small packages to carry in our kit.Easy to open with the tear tab.ConsIf you’re not used to gels then the texture can take a little getting used to.We think these are great as my partner tends to suffer from leg cramps when she hikes for long periods of time. The balance of carbohydrate, salts and minerals have helped to alleviate these symptoms and keep us going along with our other expedition supplements.I won’t lie that if you haven’t used gels before then you might find the texture a little odd, especially as the gel often has small bubbles in it. If you don’t look then it’s a little like a runny fromage frais but that’s the closest thing I can liken it to.Details and things to note (See pictures):You get a box of 24x individual energy gel sachets, each sachet is 60g of clear fruit gel.Apple and blackcurrant flavour carbohydrate and electrolyte mix. They do not contain gelatine so they are vegetarian and vegan friendly. The packets are waterproof and have a notched top that can be torn off clean to allow the gel to be squeezed out directly into your mouth as the gels do not have to be taken in liquids. The suggested consumption rate is 1-3 sachets per hour of exercise but we tend to take them less frequently and as needed on long arduous hiking trips where we may be walking for long distances over difficult terrain.Final thoughts:A great energy boost while on the go which is easy to carry in our packs, they’re fairly well protected from bursting and can be wiped clean if they’re dropped.I’d definitely recommend these to those that train for prolonged periods of time to help avoid fatigue and some of the associated symptoms.

Very sweet but convenient
I have used various energy supplements from water dissolving tablets, to similar gel sachets. This box of 24 sachets are very convenient as I can store them in the bag under my bike seat to get an energy boost. These are a clear gel, like a watered down mixed up jelly but have really sweet taste like eating jelly before its been dissolved. They do give you an energy hit and I liked that these include a some electrolytes which help with hydration if drinking a lot of water. They are a little to sweet for me but ideal if you are feeling drained from intense exercise and need a very quick energy boost. These don't mix with water (well they didn't when tested in a glass, I assume the water needs to be hot to dissolve the gelatine consistency). They taste fine, the sweetness overrides most of the flavour and is all that is tasted afterwards. The ones tested had just under 2 year shelf life, and at £1.50 they are quite expensive, whilst similar products can be as much as 50% cheaper these do contain electrolytes. I find them a little too sweet probably because I'm used to my energy needs being dissolved in a litre of water which waters down the taste.

Source of energy or fat (if you don't burn it by having physical activity).
These energy gels taste good. They're sweet but not overwhelming. And they have gel texture and easy to swallow. The major ingredient Indies energy gels are two forms of sugar: fructose and maltodextrin. Both of these sugars are easily absorbed by the body. simply put, when you eat such sugars you either have to burn them by physical activity or they will be catabolized to fat inside the body thus you gain weight.I am not a professional athlete. I do not see the point of using these energy gels. Because in my opinion they are more harmful to body than useful.I do not recommend them to non-athletes. I think if you want to use these you need to have a good educated reason.

Sweet And Sickly Taste And What To Do With Messy Waste While Out On Your Bike
I guess they do have all the required contents to boost your energy and it suggests up to three per hour. The contents reminds me of baby food which you squeeze out of the end. You are then left with a messy plastic pouch to deal with while staying safe. You do of course have to remain hydrated and there is a reminder about this on the pouches.I found them to be rather sickly in taste and more like taking medicine than pleasure to take.

Great energy boost, refreshing flavour 🍋🍊
I've been giving these a go before / during both running and resistance workouts, and they really make a difference to my energy levels. Crucially, they're not gloopy and unappetising like some gels I've tried - the citrus fruit flavour is quite refreshing and lemony. Nobody wants a mouthful of over-sweet slime when you're panting away, and these are just the right mix to be substantial but not sickly.Nutritionally they're sound - a good clean carb boost (25g) without too much sugar per serving (8.5g), an electrolyte boost and just 100 cals to add to your daily total. Just as you'd expect from a supplement stalwart like Healthspan. I note from the pack that they're officially partnered up with the All Blacks, which is a very decent recommendation if ever there was one.Great, solid, no-frills and refreshing - excellent additions to any regime.

Great credentials, brilliant taste and working well but a bit pricey
This product can not be faulted for quality, taste or effectiveness. The individual sachets are ideal when cycling or even to take to the gym for a boost of energy mid-training. The apple and blackcurrant flavour is really good and does taste natural. Unfortunately often these products are quite expensive and at £35.99 for 24 makes these £1.5 each

Good flavour
Perfect for my husband who regularly goes out training on his bike. He said they taste really nice and are better than the normal orange ones he has.
