It is soft, it is warm, it is breathable. It is versatile and you can use it as a gator or a beanie. The material is thin and breathable. It's great gaiter.

So superior to fleece which is so bulky and once it gets wet it doesn't dry out. Wool will dry out, doesn't stink, and warmth to weight can't be beat. Also superior to man made materials which are much thicker. This is great lightweight option for warmer days. They make heavier weight options too. Machine washable, line dry.

Nice. Keeps you warm. It breathes better than some of the other ones, but it is a little too tight for my neck. I am a bit overweight but not huge. I also wear glasses, so it is a pain to get in on and off. It would be better if it came in a few different sizes.

Love this bad boy!! I have to park and walk a long windy sidewalk in Cleveland Ohio to work everyday (Oh Cleveland weather!) and this has made it much more enjoyable!! I have tired scarfs, found I get the fabric in my month nose or eyes and taste it every time I breath in! With this item is is amazing!! I get to enjoy the colder weather with a warm face! It stays nicely on my face and allows me to breath without inhaling the fabric! I have to say it took me a while to get over looking like a bandit-lol! But after a 12-16hour shift walking to my car knowing I won’t be completely frozen is worth it!

I went to the artic (Tromsø, Norway) and bought this to protect against the cold and wind and it was fantastic! I wore it with or without a beanie depending on the weather and it always kept me warm and felt cuddly all day. I bought it in black which I recommend. Yes you kinda look like an Ewok but if you’re looking g for warmth and comfort this piece is a must!

I love Icebreaker and this has all the quality you'd expect, but the Chute needs to be bigger or stretchier for my man-sized noggin and neck. Had the Cool-lite version before I lost it, and that wasn't as constricting. Both versions need to be a about two inches longer to make for an effective (ear-covering) beanie.

Icebreaker quality as expected. 200 weight soft and durable merino wool. These are sold as unisex/one-size but they actually run small, which works great for my small head but not for my husbands' large noggin.

I bought this for my husband because he does long distance runs daily in all types of weather--even miserably cold and wet winter days. In the past, he's worn a Smartwool balaclava for the worst weather in order to keep his lower face and head warm. The problem with balaclavas, though, is that in some weather you may only need/want your lower face covered during certain times while running--like when you're running into the wind. While you can sometimes push that lower section of a balaclava down under your chin, it isn't always comfortable to do so. That's where this wool gaiter comes in handy. You can leave it bunched comfortably around your neck for warmth and only pull it up over your nose and mouth when you really need it. No need to pull off a hat first or to "undo" anything -- you simply pull up the top edge. Just like my husband's favorite balaclava, this Icebreaker gaiter is made of lightweight 100% Merino wool that is soft and non-scratchy. When exercising strenuously with a gaiter or balaclava up over your nose and mouth, you'll find that the naturally water-resistant wool ones like this are more breathable and comfortable than synthetics in reducing wet respiration and ice crystals against your skin. It pulls on over your head and bunches easily around your neck. When fully flattened, it measures about 20" x 10".

I wear some nice scarfs, but have to admit that the bulk scarfs make around the neck sometimes annoys me. This Chute is really light and has no bulk but just as warm as it's made of Icebreaker merino wool. Love the colour and it fits nicely. Very happy :D

Habe bewusst die Stärke das Materials gewählt, muss sagen das Shirt ist wirklich sehr warm. Wie bei der Materialmischung des Herstellers üblich (mittlerweile besitze ich eine Produkte) leitet das Gewebe die Feuchtigkeit exzellent ab. Trotz des Wollanteils ist das Gewebe "stabil" und verzieht sich nicht. Ist mir auch schon im Trockner gelandet und nix passiert. Material fühlt sich in der Hand steif und kratzig an, getragen ist das Gefühl aber anders und auf jeden Fall auch, oder gerade, für empfindliche Haut zu empfehlen.
