Too narrow for a John Lewis scooter

Bought this to replace a snapped brake on a John Lewis scooter.Whilst the screws and profile of the brake fit ok, the sides of the plastic were too narrow, and rubbed permanently on the sides of the wheel, so had to take it off again.
