I have had casting seats on boats for years, commonly referred to as "butt" seats. Usually they are not terribly comfortable, but they do make standing at the front of the boat much easier on your back and knees. If you want to sit down on them, though, they are not comfortable at all. This seat is much different. It is the size of a full seat. The front of the seat is rounded to allow it to act as a leaning post type of seat. It is also big enough to sit on if you choose to. The seat is easy to see around when under way. Good seat, get one.

I put this seat on my nucenoe frontier 12 kayak couldn't believe how great it is. Made very well and easy to install

Very comfortable and holds up very well. Mine has been out in the weather for a year and I also have the one with the backrest and it has been in the same elements for 2 years. Both look like they did the day I purchased them.
