Sturdy & effective
The toothbrush is sturdy which is perfect for my son, who is a young adult with special needs. He breaks things easily. The toothbrush works well in cleaning the middle and sides of each tooth. This makes it easier for him to manipulate and get his teeth clean.

The best toothbrushes for sensory issues or oral differences
2 of my sons with special needs love these! One kiddo has autism and hates tooth brushing. This brush allows me to get all his teeth thoroughly clean in the shortest amount of time. The other kiddo has a very tight jaw. Again, these brushes allow me to reach all his teeth and all sides of them where standard brushes always fall short. Please bring back the four packs!!

A good toothbrush !!!
I think that this toothbrush is going to be a five star product but I need to see how well it works. It feels a little flimsy. If it lasts six months I’ll come back and move it to five stars.

Perfect toothbrush for a sensory sensitive kiddo!
My sensory sensitive kiddo doesn't fight me to brush his teeth with this toothbrush, like he does with a classic toothbrush.

Can Help Kiddos With Brushing Sensory Challenges, Bristles Can Deform Easily
So I had a serious brain fart and failed to notice that these were not the toddler version. We had purchased some Surround Toddler toothbrushes a while back for our 4 year old son who has a pretty long list of diagnosis, two of which are Sensory Modulation Disorder and Autism. They were recommended to us by his current OT because to say that our sweet kiddo has an aversion to tooth brushing is putting it mildly. Really mildly. Anyways, our four pack had run out, and we needed to replace them, and these are now the only surround products on Amazon...and they are full size toothbrushes. Which, since our kiddo is big for his age, I decided, what the heck, we'll just try them out anyways. So the theory behind these is that they are going to wrap all around the tooth, allowing you to get more cleaning done in less time, while also directing the bristles more directly at the teeth, both of which are supposed to help kiddos with sensory issues. Now with both the toddler version and this one, I did notice a slight improvement in the amount of time he'd tolerate me brushing...like, it went up to 10 seconds from 5.One of the things I like about this one better is that the side flaps are less flexible, because he was easily able to chew the flaps on the toddler brushes into a very flat position, which ruined some of the teeth surrounding effects. I was worried that the thinner handle would be harder for him to grip because of his fine motor deficits, or that he wouldn't tolerate it because it appears very different because of that and the extra length, but he actually did ok with both of those features. Probably the sameness of the bristle portion allowed him to be more flexible on the rest of it, which is good. Now the bristles on these are really easily chewed flat, he's already flattened out some of them to odd angles and he's only used the green one once.Overall, I do think these can be beneficial to kiddos with sensory issues, I know the toddler ones did double the time he was willing to tolerate brushing, even though it's still pretty meager at that.

Great for people with special needs
This toothbrush is great bc it cuts the amount of time it takes to brush my daughter’s teeth in half and isn’t as tall so it’s less likely to trigger the gag reflex. Her dentist consistently finds very little plaque using this brush twice a day which makes for an easier office visit too. They are a bit expensive compared to traditional toothbrushes but so worth it for making life easier.
