Matzie Men's Assist Swing Trainer

A little background. I am 70 years old and have had a full knee replacement of both knees and a couple of other major surgeries in the last 2 - 3 years. Age and the medical issues have changed my golf swing, so to assist in correcting and improving my swing I have taken lessons from a couple of teaching pros. One pro suggested the Matzie swing trainer. A problem I have found I have is as follows. I strike the ball well when I am with my instructor, but after playing a couple of rounds away from the instructor, I begin slicing and don't strike the ball as I should. When this happens, I can't seem to get back on track with my swing. I have found the following with the Matzie:1) I take it with me to the driving range and when playing. If I begin by simply swinging the Matzie in less than a full swing and then gradually work up to a full swing, I find my whole body remembers how a proper swing should flow so to speak.2) With the weighted club head, I have improved my flexibility in my back swing and also the speed of the club head when I bring the club forward to strike the ball. My body remembers this and when I pick up my driver it feels like a match stick in my hands compared to the Matzie and what an improvement I then have in striking the ball.3) I have always been a "nut" on physical fitness and have been a member of various fitness clubs for 40+ years. Strength is so important as we age and the Matzie weighted club has supplemented my workouts and has strengthened my grip of the golf club through exercise with the Matzie as I described in #1 above. I use it as part of my fitness workouts.4) If I am on the driving range and start slicing the ball, I often have difficulty correcting the slice. I can't get it fixed no matter what I do. My solution now is to take out my Matzie, swing it for a couple of minutes and my body then remembers what correction is needed without my even thinking about it. I now have my personal golf instructor with me in my bag.I am truly thankful to my teaching pro for suggesting the Matzie.

I purchased this trainer from the great reviews here on amazon. After 5 total days of swinging this trainer at home, I didn't think it would make that much difference. I went to the course soon after the purchase and used the trainer to warm up on the driving range. I didn't see significant improvement on the range, which disappointment me a bit. I just kept swining the trainer until it was time to tee off. Immediately, I noticed my drive was coming off the tee much straighter. My drives usually had a slight fade (noticeable), but all of my drives were going straight as an arrow. I also immediately noticed a huge improvement on my irons. I was able to hit my irons more clean, without skulling, or hitting them fat. Since I felt i didn't have much time with the trainer, in between holes and waiting for my other friends to hit their shots, I would swing the trainer midway through the holes. Anytime I needed a "tune-up", I'd take out the trainer and swing it a few times and it was a huge help. At the end of the day I broke 100 and hit a 99 on the field, my first time ever breaking 100 on the course. A few weeks before, I shot a 120 which was horrendous. Maybe its a bit early, but I immediately noticed my drives and irons improve greatly. I'm planning to revisit this review at the end of the season.

This is excellent for swing training as it gets you on the correct swing plane. I did not go to the golf course for 3 weeks and just used this everyday for at least an hour a day. I really wanted to cure my slice. It is weighted so it gives a good workout as well if you keep swinging it.Anyway, after 3 weeks, I went straight into the golf course without going to the driving range. My first drive went almost STRAIGHT! In my entire round, I did not slice at all. I will not go to the driving range anymore. I will just use this for now until it becomes 2nd nature to me. The trick is to build muscle memory.This club literally force you to the correct swing. Just swing, and let the club do the rest. If you stick with this as I did, it will slowly weed out all the horrible things you have added to your swing that keeps you from being the golfer you were meant to be.Now if they only had something that could fix my putting.

Works okay, but the grip is starting to wear out after only a couple weeks.

I put this in my bag for most rounds. I swing it a few times before I tee off on the first hole and my slice is fixed for most or all of the game. I find that if I'm not playing every day, I need to repeat the process before each game. This is the only golf gizmo I own and I'm glad I bought it.

This product has vastly improved my swing and golf game in a week. Not only will it help with hand placement, the weight makes it help find proper backswing and follow through. If it taught where to place the ball in the stance, and club placement it would cover everything. I wrote the review as I’m trying to find a woman’s size for my wife. I carry it in my bag, I swing it a few times when I feel my swing getting out of whack.

I use the Swing Trainer to get my body warmed up and flexible. The weight of the Trainer is great. The fact that it comes in DIFFERENT weights is even greater! After warming up and swing this thing for a few minutes, I pick up my clubs and they feel light as feathers. Especially my Driver!The Swing Trainer has helped me TREMENDOUSLY with having a proper grip. All this time I thought I WAS using the proper grip. Turns out I was wrong! Go figure, right?And because of the way the Trainer's "head" is shaped and weighted, it's also got my hands finally Turning Over during my swing. It's got me thinking, "What the heck have I been DOING all this time??"Being that I live in Seattle, I may not be able to get outside as much as I'd like. So when I'm stuck indoors, I grab my Swing Trainer and start swinging away! It keeps my muscles loose and the "muscle memory" active.Get yourself one. You won't be dissappointed!
