What a Waste of Money.
Klein makes good meters and non-contact voltage tester is a must.Changing from 4 stars to one start. I went to use the meter and it would not work at all. Sent a return notice tp Amazon and Amazon said that I was 1 day too late to return. Went to Klein's Webb site and warranty section and send a email to them. That was 10 days ago and no reply from them. Money down the drain. Be careful before buying.

No Instructions So Thought It Was Me ...
There’s no real instructions just very basic. That being said, I needed to test voltage but nothing was happening. I kept rechecking trying to see what I was doing wrong. I don’t take chances with electricity so I ended up calling an electrician. I showed him what i was doing, and he said that was correct. He said it’s not working properly and didn’t even charge me for service. Not a good product at all

Nice kit with three items
Nice kit with three items. Good price. This replaces my 30 plus year old fluke meter that has become difficult to read and use. I am not a professional electrician, just a diy home mechanic and handyman. My two grandsons had a blast finding energized items with the "pencil", and then validating the wiring on all of the outlets around our house. Next they got a lesson on measuring voltage on batteries. Now they are creating their own "cells" wth dissimilar metal strips and different electrolytes. This has become quite a science project. When a second grader measures 1.6 volts on a battery, then observes that two batteries in series can give 3.2 volts, then predicting voltage for a long series of batteries (and then measuring), they have to deal with decimal equivalents and fractions. In this case they figured it out experimentally. When the subject is taught in school, they will already have the concept grounded in reality, not just theory.

Good for the price point.
Do yourself and any dependents a favor by researching the right multimeter for you. You don't want to kill yourself on some cheap meter. I primarily work on low voltage systems but have used these for some around-the-house handyman work. Klein says that these are rated for higher voltages and these do seem to be built pretty well but I can never reccommend using budget tools for professional work. The plug tester has been handy in diagnosing my home's previous owner's shoddy work.

Great test set for a extremely reasonable price.
I had my 20-year-old meter destroyed by heat (left it in an un-cooled garage) and the display shot craps. I looked into just replacing the display but when it came down to it, I no longer need an expensive meter, and no longer need to spend $200 for one. The fact this kit also came with tools for some household electrical detection and testing was just a bonus. In the end, everything performs well, the meter is actually as good or better than the meter I bought all those years ago, and the detector better than my older ones. The circuit tester is great, and standard, but having extras is always handy since I can keep them in strategic locations.Since I just purchased this I don't know about longevity, but everything is solid and looks to be of good manufacture. I expect they will perform well for years to come, essentially making this purchase pay for itself in about 1 to 2 years time.

Great set for a homeowner
I actually believe that my buddy, who is a professional electrician, has this same set in his tool bag. There are definitely better multimeter's out there, but you are going to pay for that quality. However, this isn't the cheap Chinese garbage you get at Harbor Freight either. This set is perfect for me just doing simple things around the house and using it from time to time. I just can't justify professional grade so that I can diagnose what's wrong with my smoker or a light fixture once or twice a year. If you're like me and are just using this for the occasional handyman project, this is the set to have.

Defective leads make tester unreliable
The multi-tester and other devices are in good working order. The leads are defective. The black lead does not maintain contact with the multi-tester and thus makes readings unreliable. The quality of the Klein produced items is top drawer. But the multi-tester leads packaged with the kit are not of the same quality. Since it came as a kit, I cannot find a way to simply return the defective leads. Cheap leads makes this a questionable purchase.

Meter is good. Outlet tester is good. Volt pen is only ok.
The meter is simple and good enoughbfor what i do. The testvlead holders on the backnare great for neat storage and the meter is small enough to keep in a tool belt. The outlet tester works. The volt pen is tricky. The button has to be held down for a while to turn on and turn off and the button doesnt seem quite right. It would be nicer if it was just an on/off switch. There is a silent mode and an audible mode on the volt pen. Toggling between the two is complicated and I wind up switching between the two by accident.

Calidad Klein Tools!!!

The Klein MM300 is a very useful Digital Multi-Purpose Tester
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I like the various function test capabilities of this Digital Multi-Tester. I use it in the Telecommunications industry to confirm that Cat5e wiring terminations and continuity are correct and to standard. I also use it to test that the AC wiring polarity is correct, grounded properly etc. The continuity testing function with audible tone is very useful for dark locations when you can't see the screen due to low light in a room. There is a hold button you can depress to continuously display the reading on the screen and an (H) will appear on the display when you use this function. The hold function is useful so I can take a photo of the reading using my iphone and then pass on to the appropriate trade to understand more clearly what the specific fault/issue is that needs to be corrected. There is also a setting for testing specific battery voltages that I don't use too often, but comes in handy at times. The voltage tester wand is useful to quickly determine if AC voltage is present with a green light for no-voltage and a red light if the wire is energized. The plastic sleeves on the test probes can be removed if you need to test inside an AC outlet for correct polarity, but I prefer to use the plug in fault tester when confirming correct wiring of AC outlets. My only complaint about the plug in tester is that the lights are all very similar in color. I prefer my old tester with Green, Yellow, & Red lights which I find easier and faster to determine if a fault if present. However there is a guide on the top of the Klein tester that shows if a fault is present and also that the plug is wired correctly, but again It is difficult to see the fault description in dark locations. Another issue with the multi-function tester is there is no clear indication you are testing DC or AC voltage because the LCD readout on the screen looks the same when testing both voltages. DC test you turn the knob to the left and AC to the right. To solve this confusion for myself, I added P-touch labels to clearly identify AC or DC on the meter. There is an optional storage case for this Tester, but is about 1/3 the cost of the Multi-tester. Other than these minor issues, I am very pleased with this tester and the price is hard to beat.

Only one problem so far
Not sure why I didn't see this in other reviews, but the leads do not have a long enough tip to put into an outlet to read the voltage. Not only that but there is a picture showing someone measuring the 120V from an outlet.

3 Tools for the one price.
The plug tester and the circuit tester are easy to use. The voltage tester is a bit trickier. My electrician brother understands it, but I'd have to read the booklet to have some idea. My brother was impressed with the value for money though.
