For some reason, This book contains the first 76 pages of “Dead Souls” by Nikolai Gogol before the actual grade 3/4 worksheets. Not appropriate.

As an elementary school teacher, I find this book to be a wonderful tool that has the potential to minimize the summer slide (called "learning loss" in this text) that all teachers dread. This book is great for parents that want to help their kiddos learn during the summer break. I like the fact that it covers reading, writing, math, AND has fun activities. I like the short reading passages. I also like how the math skills progress in difficulty as it would during a school year. I think it is SUPER helpful to have the answers and explanations in the back so that parents who aren't sure how to explain it to their students can use it as a reference. Overall, I think this is a really good summer workbook for 3rd graders going into the 4th grade.

I received this book yesterday, I did a flip through and read some of the problems. I love how it mixes math and language arts together, just enough so kids don’t get bored with it. I think this going to be a great summer book for my 3rd grader to keep her engaged since we have been homeschooling since March.

This is too easy and uses up a lot of space in its formatting. There's only 2 and at max 3 questions on a page. So the exercises for a day can be done in 10 minutes.

My granddaughter stays with us over the summer & we didn't want her to lose her edge in school. The activities in this book are excellent, mixing learning & fun so that kids actually like taking time out of their busy play. There were just enough exercises to get us through till school started.

Every year I start my children with class work the last full month of summer break to help them refresh and start back to school on track. When I ordered this book I didn’t know that it also goes along with an online program. It does take a moment to figure out the site and the steps but it has a helpful pop up chat/navigator. The book gives great refreshers lessons. I love that the online portion grades the work for you and then shows the child what they missed and the correct answer.

This book is far too easy, the daily homework can be completed in a matter of minutes. Most days are a few reading comprehension paragraphs and 5 or so math questions. It’s in black and white with no color and almost the same thing everyday, so my daughter is bored. Once the workbook is completed, they expect the student to go online and complete a few more homework assignments on their website. Which may work for some people but I would just prefer everything in the book, for ease of use, travel, etc. I have purchased multiple summer workbooks for my kids over the years and this one is by far is the easiest. The Summer Bridge and Scholastic Summer Express Books seem to cover a wider variety of academic components and everything is all in one book.

I bought this book as soon as I saw the school closure email due to the covid-19 breakout. I love that this book has daily worksheets and we can log in online to do additional activities. Every summer I buy my son these workbooks so he can keep using the skills he learned throughout the school year. This is the first book that has a parental portal online so that I can keep track of his progress. He has started this book and thus far it aligns with what he knows. We look forward to the 4th grade curriculum online so he is ready for the school year.

I truly love these books. This is the third summer I’ve purchased them and I’ve seen the difference in their school work come September.

Bought a grade ahead. Sparked great conversation and teachable moments for my grade 3! Happy with the material.
