On with the show!
I have gathered a zillion bass books over the years. This is my current favourite and the one I am working on now. I love the exercises written in notation with the accompanying videos - an excellent way to learn rather than just following tab or watching youtube videos. I use it in tandem with Jeff Berlin's Bass Mastery which is also filled with notes. I am looking forward to working my way through the book and coming back to it repeatedly!

This is making sense!
As others have written in reviews there are lots of books on playing and theory. Some suit each of us better than others. I’ve played bass for many years as a hobbyist with just a few gigs a long time ago. I’ve tried a few ‘theory’ books and always given up. This one is making sense and I ‘get’ what’s going on. Building from intervals in the first book, the patterns are working for me. Hard work and challenging, but enjoyable and rewarding, will stick at it!

The best education bass book I have bought in the past 40 years!
I believe Ariane is one of the best Bass educator's out there. Just like her first book 'Music Theory For The Bass Player' this is immaculately presented, it's precise, well structured and superbly explained. It's an absolute god send for anyone who is serious about becoming a proficient bass player. This method of learning patterns and shapes will provide you with an incredible understanding of the entire fretboard whilst learning major/minor scales, triads, chord progressions through plenty of exercises, homework and complete with over 100 videos.

Superb!
Extremely well presented, and very challenging! I've been playing for fifty years and reached a reasonable standard, technically and with my theory knowledge. This book has kicked my approach to bass up to a whole new level. Highly recommended, but be prepared to put the work in. It's a series of lessons, not a magic wand. You'll get the best from it if you do the studies.

Setting the highest standards for learning and practicing the bass guitar!
Ariane Cap is a bass educator and writer par excellence. This eagerly anticipated book partners perfectly Music Theory for the Bass Player and together is the most comprehensive Bass education experience out there. Explanations are clear offering a rich variety of style and content; many supporting videos, and buying this book provides access to online support from Ariane herself. Brilliant!
