Good, Informative book.
Gifted it to my grandson who is just learning to make candy and he says it's great.

Can't wait to get started making candies!
I looked over all of the recipes and can't wait to get started making candies. The recipes sound wonderful. I'd have rated this a 5 star, but I found two things confusing. The Chocolate-Cheesecake Bon Bons call for a package of cream cheese. The stores have two sizes, which does it use??? Also the Apricot-Orange Balls recipe directions indicated "honey sugar". The ingredients list 3 tablespoons honey, however no sugar is included in the ingredients. Therefore, I don't know if sugar is missing from the ingredients or should "honey sugar" be honey that has sugared.I'd recommend this to anyone who is or has a candy lover. Use the recipes to make candy that contain familiar ingredients. Control the ingredient(s) to make gluten free or vegan candy. Much better than store bought candy (the aren't artificial). Most of the recipes seem like they could be halved or doubled for smaller or larger households.

Great Book! Very comprehensive.
I have so many cookbooks, around 200! This is the best candy making one, by far. The author is an organic cook, as I am, and gives a short comparison/review of the different ingredients, including the different liquid and solid sugars and different chocolates, as they pertain to candy making. There is a clickable Table of Contents with chapter headings which takes you the the clickable Table of Contents for the recipes in that chapter. There is an index (not clickable, can a person write "clickable" too many times?) and an illustration of each treat showing both the outside and a cross section of the inside where applicable. There are so many recipes in here and from peppermint patties to applets to fudge to brandy balls there are treats both old and new fashioned. The author's exact directions makes the process easy enough for all. This book is a must have if you have a sweet tooth, make food gifts or want to make candy where you control the ingredients.

The best book I have bought
Love the box. It shows how to do such wonderful thing from marshmallows, corn candy, fudge, etc. it is the best cooking book I have bought in a long time since the recipes are easy to follow and it even includes we're to buy the ingredients. It will be fun to start cooking my first Bach of taffy and telling them I did them myself.
