Initially was in love, now, not so much.
I am trying very hard to like this product. When I first installed it, it was wonderful. The air bubbles on the screen were minimal. I liked the feel of the case, it made my Kindle feel sturdy. I didn't mind the added weight as I can be rather clumsy and the trade-off of added weight for added security was one I could live with. Plus, now I could use my Kindle when I wanted to relax in the bath tub without worry. However, after about a week, I had issues charging my Kindle. I had left the original Kindle USB to outlet plug in a hotel by accident and when I got home and realized that it was missing I plugged it into my USB phone charger, which in the past worked just fine. It wouldn't charge. I tried different USB plugs, different cables and even hooked it to my computer. I thought perhaps the rubber bumper, which is easy to remove, might be in the way, so I took that off. Still nothing. I called Amazon and made a new best friend, Brittany, who sent me a replacement USB charger at no cost with two day shipping. I told her about the Atlas case but she didn't think that was the issue. I plugged up my Kindle when it arrived and still had issues getting it to charge. I got some charge on it but then wouldn't charge.Brittany had told me to call back if I continued to have issues after I received the USB charger. Thinking that maybe my cable was bad I went to Radio Shack and paid way too much for a 6' cord. I tested the cord first on my very picky cell phone and the phone indicated it was charging. I then swapped out the cable to the Kindle charger and plugged it in. No dice, no charging. I called Amazon and this time spoke to Fabian. Again, I told her about the Atlas case, she didn't think that was the problem and set me up to have a replacement Kindle sent to me.Last night in preparation for the replacement Kindle I wrestled my Kindle out of the Atlas case. Just for grins and giggles I decided to plug in my Kindle and see if it would charge and of course, it did. I was thrilled, however my delight with the Atlas case was diminishing. This morning I called Incipio about the problem with my case as I found no online support on their website. The woman that I spoke with started by telling me that I could only use the cable that came with my Kindle for charging it while it was in the Atlas case because of the size of the micro USB head and tolerances. Unfortunately, my original Kindle cable had been chewed on by my dog and while it still worked most of the time, it had become very unreliable. I told her about the cable I purchased at Radio Shack and she said that if I wanted to use that cable the only work around was to remove the Kindle from the case WHENEVER I WANTED TO CHARGE IT. I told her that was unacceptable as the case fits very tightly and was not designed to be removed on a daily basis. Her response to that was to look around the office and see if she could find a cable with a thin micro USB head that fit the port size of the case. She's supposed to call me back to let me know if she's able to find a cable to send to me. I'm really not sure how I'm feeling about this case right now.

This is actually a very good case.
A lot of the reviews of this device make you wonder if they are even talking about this product. The ratings for this device were bad but I thought this case looked interesting anyway so I got it.Pros:Very attractiveMakes playing games a lot more fun because the case fits so well in your hands. Try Asphault 8 or MinecraftWaterproof and they give you a 1 year replacement warranty so if your kindle breaks due to water exposure they buy you a new or refurbished one plus a new caseConsIt was difficult for me to figure out how to get rid of the air bubbles but all you do is wipe a little rubbing alcohol on your kindle then the screen protector and wipe it off. Then to make sure no watermarks appear you wipe your finger accross the whole kindle and whole protector screenI want to crticize the other reviewers for a moment since they are petty petty (not being redundant) reviews.A lot of people are talking about how its a pain to take it out of the case. Why would you want to do that? I would think you might want to clean it. Thats pointless since the case is airtight and dust and water do not get in. Other reviewers say they only want to use the case for the water then switch back to another case. Its a very nice case and it fits very nicely in the hands. And the case is also shock and dust resistant. It takes me about 20 secs at most to dissasemble the case if you really want to change cases all the time... The other reviewers make it sound like case installation is harder than integral calc. I am sorry it doesn't slip on like a sleeve but its supposed to stay on for a long time and not be swapped back and forth.Another reviewer says you lose touch sensitivity. Yes you do. Instead of getting 10/10 sensitivity without the case you get 8-9/10 with case on. Not bad. Playing games couldn't be more fun with the grip and you still don't need much touch. And if you just read books then it doesn't matter... You touch the screen once every 2-3 mins. depending on your reading speed to turn the page.Another reviewer said its bulky... With case on its still smaller than my ipad. And like I said it fits better in the hands. The kindle was too small to begin with. Conclusion:The only difficulty you will experience is getting rid of air bubbles. But once you do my method you will have no more problems. That is why I gave this product a 5. Its very attractive, makes it so much easier to hold and if it doesn't keep your kindle waterproof they buy you a new or refurbished kindle. So you have nothing to lose. The other reviewers think cases are meant to be swapped out several times a week; a case is meant to protect and this is the best case. No reason to switch.

Made me realize how much I like my origami cover
I bought the Atlas Waterproof case for my Kindle Fire HDX 7" because I like to read while I'm soaking in the tub. This case is very good for that purpose, but I don't like it for everyday use.Positives - 1) The case seems to be well constructed, and it probably meets its waterproof claims. Like most of the other reviewers, I'm not willing to risk my Kindle Fire HDX just for the sake of testing this case. 2) It is far easier to view my Kindle while it is in this case than when it was in the zip-top baggies that I have been using around water. 3) The price has dropped to less than 1/2 the hundred-dollar cost that some reviewers quoted.Negatives - 1) I have large hands, but the edges of the case just don't feel right when I'm holding my Kindle in it. Since the case does not have any type kick-stand, you will be holding it much of the time. 2) Large "bubbles" have formed between parts of my Kindle's screen and the cover / screen protector after a few hours. The only way that I've found to get rid of them has been to remove the cover of the case, and then re-install it. I have followed the included instructions to the letter, and I've tried cleaning the Kindle's screen with optic cleaning fluid before snapping the screen cover on the case. Unfortunately, the problem has recurred, and the bubbles make view thing on the Kindle almost impossible.Bottom line - This case is the best solution that I've found for wet or messy environments (kitchens, garages, pools, etc.), but it is not suitable for everyday use in typical conditions. I'm going back to my origami case unless I'm climbing into the tub for a looooong soak.
