Good bulb
Revising my reviewI have a long wifi password and it was incorrect. Once corrected, the bulb connected immediately and is working just fine. My bad.

Good bulbs, app needs work
As we enter the holiday season, I got to thinking that it might be a good idea to install color-changing bulbs in my 3 garage carriage lights so they could be lit according to each holiday. This 3 pack of bulbs from Ledeply seemed to be a good value. When I opened the pack I was dismayed to see that the bulbs were small and had only a 40w equivalent power rating (I should have paid more attention to the Amazon listing so that's totally on me). I installed a bulb in a table lamp to test it out and downloaded the companion 'Smart Life' app to my phone. As seems to be normal today, I didn't find the app to be intuitive and it needed a certain amount of experimentation to get my head around how it worked. Naturally, for the first attempt at adding a bulb I chose probably the most difficult method and it was only later that I discovered the easy way. So here's what you do...1. install the bulb in a light fitting that can 'see' the wifi network you will use for controlling the bulb. 'Well duh' you might say but, in my case, the garage lights are controlled from a wifi extender that's located in the garage and the bulbs need to be added with the phone connected to the extender.2. DON'T SWITCH IT ON just yet. Open the app and locate the blue circle with the plus sign in the top right hand corner. Make sure you are connected to the right wifi network. NOW, switch the bulb on.3. After a couple of seconds the bulb will start to flash, which is the indication that it's ready to pair. Tap on the blue circle and the app will search for any bulbs that are ready to pair (the one that is flashing!). It may take up to 45 seconds and the app will tell you that it has found 1 device and added 0. (This is where I got confused and aborted the procedure - have patience, it will add the bulb if you wait just a short while longer). Once the bulb is found, give it a meaningful name and that's it. It's now available on your phone.I added the other 2 bulbs using the same lamp and, once done, all 3 bulbs were available in the app. Again, it took a bit of frustrating playing around to figure out how to group the 3 bulbs so they can all be controlled together as one (click on any one bulb icon and then the 'edit' button in the top right where you can create the group and add the other bulbs). You can also create a room group which might be handy for voice control or you can just run them independently.Relocated and installed in the carriage lights, the bulbs do what they are meant to do and throw out a LOT more light than their 40w equivalent rating would suggest. In fact, I am running mine at 50% dimming and the 3 bulbs give out more than sufficient white light to adequately illuminate my entire driveway. A higher brightness setting is required to produce vivid color.Basic control through the app is simple with a color wheel provided to enable selection of the required hue or shade of white (there's a dedicated white selector for the entire warm through cold spectrum - nice!) together with a brightness % slider. However, color matching independently controlled bulbs is really fiddley and there doesn't seem to be any way to copy a color setting from one bulb to another so you have to read the setting off the bulb summary screen and try to guesstimate the same color on the second bulb. It needs improvement.I've not yet connected the bulbs to my Echo network but will probably give it a try sometime. There are also settings to set scenes and have the bulbs pulsate to music but I haven't tried those either.I will buy more color-changing bulbs to use inside my home for the ability to set an exact shade of white, something that is difficult to get from one-color off-the-shelf bulbs. And I would probably go for bulbs with more power for the times when higher light levels are needed.Overall, so far, I recommend these bulbs as being good value. My gripes are with the app which, hopefully, will be improved over time. 4 stars due to the app's shortcomings, 5 stars for the bulbs themselves.

Bedroom bulbs
Got them 9/30/24 put them in and it’s 11/5/24 and one bulb has already went out. These bulbs are 25.72 for 3. They should last a lot longer than 36 to 40 days. Not happy with this brand one bit.

Stopped Working
Product worked great for the first 3 months then two of the bulbs stopped working and won’t reconnect. I tried everything that the app recommended but nothing works.

The benefit of being small
For many lamps- and in this case and overhead hallway light inside a fixture- normal size bulbs are too big. This fits nicely and connected easily and has been working non-stop for weeks now. I had a hallway light that was either on and off and was just a bright white. Now I can control it and change the color either by voice or through the app on my Google Home system. Fancy!

Smart are you?
This lightbulb has many unique features and is perfect size as it is A15. Make sure your on a decent 2.4htz network and the same network as your smart hub. We have Alexa echo dot. Like all smart devices connecting can be a pain in the rear, however being new to all this I finally was able to connect. I didn't realize that a 3rd party app was required (smart life) to make the options available to use. I just assumed that once connected to Alexa I could ask Alexa to do this and that. It will turn on and off and change color and brightness....usually. But that's about it. I'm in the process of self discovery regarding this and I think there is a way to fully control the bulb and all its options thru Alexa? I consider myself pretty savvy on tech stuff the average user will likely be dissatisfied with not just this product but any product that requires 3rd party apps to connect and operate fully. Compatibility is the issue there's too many different smart hubs smart home devices that say they are but in reality it's not as simple as it should be. Do I really want to pull up an app on my phone to control each device at each location? No, of course not I naively assumed I could just speak to Alexa and it would make it so. Early days in smart home tech I'm sure in several years or decades it will be that simple as screwing in a light bulb and speaking your wishes. Until then you've got some homework to do. The bulb is priced economically and will likely last some time. 3 points for that -2 for requiring a course in smart home home management to make you smart enough to control (haha the irony) your smart home. I think the future is clear. Humanity is doomed to a subservient future. "Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated" Borg. Heck I mean who knew that we needed color changing disco light bulbs in every lamp?
