Thoughts on using two of these bags for substituting plate weights for bench press?

Its not a substitute. The sand bag, overall, works more body parts. Example, squats...the way I do squats with the bag is one of two ways. The traditional way ..pick it up off the floor and place it on your shoulders and do reps. Or...pick it up off the floor do a rep ..take off your shoulders, drop it on the floor.. do it again. Bench press...you cant do it with a bag. Triceps, cant do it with bag...not successfully anyway. I enjoy the bag because it gives me a overall workout. I do combine it with body weight exercises. The one thing I have noticed, plates bulk you up. Sandbags combined with body weight exercise, makes you leaner. Its my story and I'm sticking to it...LOL. There are a number of videos which show a some great exercises one can do with the bag. Hope this helps and have fun.

How much sand do i buy for the medium bag 26-75 to fill up completely?

For the guy who commented below about the sand being pulverized, all you need to do is buy a liner for your sandbag. This will completely illuminate any issues you may have with sand just close off the liner with a heavy duty zip tie or a metal clamp that you use for a washing machine hose. Then place it in the sun bad and you won’t have any dust or sand coming out of it whatsoever. What you put in stays in!!!!!!!

Good quality rugged and robust

Been using this for over a year now and it’s been given a beating and it’s held up very well, good quality and very robust.

Disappointing

If the inner sandbags are filled to capacity, they don't fit inside the outer bag. If the inner bags aren't filled to capacity they move around too much, changing the distribution of the weight.The stitching is poor quality. When filled to capacity you can hear the stitching snapping. It is unlikely to last being thrown around during a workout. Not fit for purpose.
