Definitely one of my top reads of 2021!
"Now none of those things seem important. I don’t need more money, more recognition, more anything. All I need is you."I finished this book in 24 hours and it made me happy. Happy for all the people out there who've had it rough, and who have managed to rise above it all, fight for what they want, and make it. And find love in the process.Donovan carries the whole book for me. In a word, he's incredible. Life was hard for him growing up, and he had to fight hard for everything he has. He's so thoughtful, so giving, so concerned and protective, and so... I don't even even have the words. He got through to me, and he felt real to me, and that's a huge compliment.Autumn got on my nerves during part of the book, because I didn't get her. Until I understood where she was coming from, and what happened in her life. It's not that she didn't like Donovan, but that she liked him too much. Trauma messes up your brain, and makes you unable to trust, yourself or others. Once I understood her, it all made sense. And she felt real to me, too.Donovan and Autumn meet because she took his suitcase by mistake. The story spawns from that meeting at a coffee shop, because it's all there from the beginning for both of them. But it's the guy who has it bad, it's the guy who shows it, and it's the guy who is patient and waits. This felt refreshing to me.After spending the weekend together, Autumn disappears, and Donovan has to accept it and move on. Only he really doesn't, because he can't stop thinking about her. The picture he has on his phone, and all the details he remembers, were the sweetest thing in the world for me. And when they meet again, he knows he can't let her go again. This is a slow burn story, and I think it had to be, because it just makes sense with these characters. Vi Keeland brings them both to life just the right way.The spark in the title is there from the get-go, and it ignited them both. You know their happily ever after is not going to come easily, but you know it will be worth it. Donovan definitely knew it too, and it's his heart and his love that battle her dragons and win it all. It's more than a story about finding love – it's about overcoming the things that have broken you. It's about waiting for love, learning how to tend to it, and how to keep it, and about learning how to let go and being happy. If you haven't realized it by now, yes, I loved it. One of my top reads of 2021.

Loved ❤️
This was a binge read for me as it was that awesome. Read the story in less than 24 hours. Donovan is book boyfriend material without doubt, and the chemistry between him and Autumn was undeniable 😍👌

Love at first Spark!
Autumn and Donovan met in the most unusual circumstances. Both had arrived from flights, she took his luggage by mistake, so Donovan seeing a suitcase like his, but realizing it wasn’t his, took that one hoping that owner could get in touch with him, and they could swap. Swap they did, spending a whole weekend together. Except when Donovan woke up Sunday morning,Autumn was gone. No note, no phone number, nothing. All he had was her first name and a last initial. This is where the story continues a year later. Hop on for a wonderful ride!

A pleasant read
This is not the type of book I usually read. I usually select books with a more literary flavor to them - and I don't mean that in a snooty way. That said, this book held my interest and is quite well written, if not a bit banal and predictable at times. I'm not prone to read another book by this author, as it lacks depth for me, but I enjoyed this one.

Enjoyable and Spicy “Meet-Cute”
I want a Donovan Decker because that man is perfection. The level of character growth, plot progression and emotions portrayed in this book was impressive. The audio was also phenomenal.

Very good. Worth buying
This book was amazing!I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time and I am glad that I FINALLY did. I’ve essentially been on a Vi Keeland binge and I’m going slow because I don’t want it to end.The Spark is a standalone, New York City based story about a meet cute luggage mixed up turned into the best weekend of Donovan Decker’s life. Our hero is a hugely successful criminal lawyer up for partnership at his firm. Our hero and heroine only planed on exchanging luggage when they met, but they couldn’t escape the spark. Now, one year later they reconnect to work together. Our heroine, Autumn ghosted Donovan and large portion of the plot is us as the reader, as well as Donovan, uncovering the “why”. In true Vi Keeland form, we slowly uncover it piece by piece in a beautifully told story. I loved Donovan! He is literally the perfect man who would do anything for Autumn including wait for her and put himself through a lot! She’s not a bad person, she’s just truly scared.I enjoyed this book a lot. It’ s a cute, contemporary, stand alone, second chance, workplace romance.

my new favorite hero
Donovan and Autumn spent one perfect weekend together but she was gone the next day without leaving a way to contact her or even her last name. He's never forgotten her since and has measured all other women against her. Then she walks back into his life on one of his pro bono cases, and suddenly he's wondering if his career and making partner are the most important things in life, or if one woman can change everything for him.Autumn has been through so much in her past and everything has made her extremely wary of men. Though she's never forgotten Donovan and their weekend, she's dating his boss now, so the crazy chemistry they still have cannot go anywhere, can it?I loved The Spark. Why? One word - Donovan. Yep, he's the perfect guy, in fact, I think my new favorite hero of this author. Sweet, swoony, smart and more than willing to lay his cards (and his feelings) all out on the table for Autumn. I had a harder time connecting with Autumn and her hot and cold nonsense, though I felt for her and what she had gone through, and appreciated that the way she acted is probably a very realistic reaction to her past. Everything else, though, especially Donovan, is perfect and The Spark is sweet, so hot, and swoony beyond belief. There's something to be said for a man who's completely willing to bare his soul for a woman even if she isn't willing to do the same.

Unexpected
It was an enjoyable read not a real page turner but I did find Autumns character slightly annoying. But the story was unusual…….refreshingly different

Trust, honesty, and caring, with patience and understanding.
Vi Keeland is one very talented author. Her story’s all have a very dynamic tales to tell. Spark is all about Trust, Fear, uncertainty, and phenomenal chemistry. Autumn is returning from Vegas following a bachelorette party. She is tired and picks up her luggage from the carousel, but on getting home realises her mistake. Donovan is lawyer who also has luggage, but not his own!! The two meet, and the story unfolds. The package of both personalities is not what they really are. Both have pasts. One from the wrong side of the tracks made good, and one from the right side of the tracks that has altered career paths due to circumstances. Patience is definitely a virtue, honesty a necessity, but trust for both totally essential. There is most definitely drama, and crackling chemistry , but there is also cold mpassion and sincerity. Some topics touched are of a dark nature, and may disturb, but are described sufficiently without going into sinister descriptions. All characters are believable, and some may feel that they have got away with a terrible event! Others are young , but are prepared to change once shown the way. A very absorbing book, that captures not only the imagination but also the readers time, as once started very difficult to put down.
