Lilumia 2 Makeup Brush Cleaner Device - MATTE BLACK BUNDLE (includes Lilumia Cleanser and 2 Deep Cleaning Disks)

I bought the Lilumia 2 Matte Black bundle because I wanted to try out their soap (Also, you forfeit the warranty if you use another soap with the machine. First off, shipping was relatively reasonable. Got here in about a week and a half. The item was packaged well inside the box. Any gap was filled with cardboard to ensure that everything was packed tightly and the machine doesn't move around during transit. The bundle came with 2 cleaning disks, a 24 fl oz bottle of their liquid soap, a measuring cup, the ac adapter, a small booklet manual and finally the machine itself.Upon first inspection, I realized that I had underestimated the size of the machine. It's not too terribly huge but if you have limited counter space, you most likely will not leave it out. After use I ended up just packing everything back up which is not necessarily a bad thing for me as I like to keep my things new for as long as humanly possible. The small booklet briefly walks you through what each color means but oddly enough does not have instructions on how to use it. Instead it gives you a link to videos that you can watch which is good for those who learn better when watching demonstration as oppose to reading. However for those who don't want to bother with the videos, there are quickie instructions printed on the packaging box that are relatively easy to follow.Onto the setup, everything was basically set up already just need to removed the protective plastic covering the clear "egg" shell, take out the AC adapter from it's box and connect it to the machine to plug it in, load warm/hot water into the open slot of the machine to the "fill" line, measure out the soap (1oz for light-medium soil, 2 oz for medium-heavy soil and 3 oz to very heavy soil. Note that 3 oz is at your risk. This level can possibly damage the brush and get into the ferrul, losening up the glue), load up the brushes then "click" them into place and you're ready to go. The first time I used this machine, it wouldn't spin. I thought maybe I got a defective unit so I started moving the brushes around and finally it started spinning. Apparently I had the brushes smashed into the cleaning disk, preventing movement. Because of MY mistake, the brushes in this wash were badly splayed and misshapen. I wasn't too bothered by it though because I had a set of brush guards for drying and they put the bristles back into place.The second set of brushes I washed went very well. I had re-watched the videos and followed the instructions to a tee. I made sure to wipe the brushes on a clean, white napkin before loading them into the machine. I made sure they weren't smashed down, just enough for the bristles to be touching the cleaning disk. Prior to starting, I twirled each brush to make sure that the bristles are somewhat parted. Once complete, all the brushes (a mix of face and eye brushes) were all clean.Here are some tips to ensure that you get the most benefit out of your Lilumia.1. The MOST important tip I can give you is to keep in mind that this machine is meant to be used for maintenance. This does NOT mean you use your brushes for 6 months without washing then load your caked up brushes here and expect it to be squeaky clean. I knew this prior to purchasing so all the brushes I've washed had about a week's worth of makeup in them and I got the clean level I was expecting.2. This is something I learned from another reviewer here is to mix your soap with warm/hot water in 1:1 ratio. This not only save you soap but also makes the brushes squeaky clean without any soap residue left behind.3. Make sure you rinse out the disk after every wash to ensure that no makeup is left behind.I personally rate this machine at 5/5. I am very pleased with my purchase since I did extensive research on the product and knew what to expect. This is perfect for someone who is lazy like me but wants to start caring for their brushes properly. It's not a miracle worker or a super time saver but if you hate sitting there, scrubbing brushes, this is something you might enjoy. I thought this product would make my life a lot easier since I have so many makeup brushes and my sister and I wash our brushes weekly AT LEAST. Not so - It takes a while to first of all stick the brushes into the slots. Sometimes I have to do all kinds of cycles just because of all the different brush sizes, and when you have to keep adjusting the brushes to the right height to not be squished against the pad or too far up, this ends up taking just as much time as hand washing them. I also have to do double cycles, the device itself is a hassle to clean, and it doesn't wash your brush handles. It's pretty big as well and takes up a lot of counter space, so it's inconvenient to have to bring it out and set it up all over again. I'm gonna finish the rest of the solution and donate it in favor of one of the more compact, single brush washers, or just go back to doing it by hand.

Doesn't work... Never worked since the day I took it out of the box. Has no instructions. Would only rise water... Never rotated or cleaned brushes.. junk

UPDATE 4/6/2020:I used this for maybe the 3rd/4th time. Started smoking and now it doesn’t work at all. Good luck getting in touch with support. I sent an email 3/18 with no response at all. Horrible. Garbage can here it comes....ORIGINAL REVIEW:My foundation brushes take 2-3 times through. sometimes not even that. I gave up & started washing by hand. works good for eyeshadow and bronzer/blush brushes. Bummed it doesn’t work for my foundations brushes especially for the money spent on it.

I like this product a lot! It does what it says it will do - washes your brushes to an almost new look in only 15 minutes. It quiet, and works well - I just wish the whole thing was a little smaller and took up less space. But either way, for me, it's the best way to cut down on brush cleaning time and get a great result.

I use this once a week to clean my brushes. I love this cleaner, it works great and saves alot of my time. It cleans more at once than I can do in 15 mins. Big fluffy brushes are difficult for use in the machine. I do clean those by hand.

I’m the type of person who hates cleaning my brushes but ever since I got this, I am in love with it!! It’s super easy to use and it cleans my brushes in 15 mins which I like the most! I would recommend this to everyone!

Need to return and it won't let me! It's broken and doesn't work!!!
