Bb and F side of the horn can really scream through this thing!Keeps intonation squareVERY snarly in louder dynamics. Echo horn is a little less effective because of this mute's desire to go nasal, so a hand stop might still work better for that, but in every other stopped circumstance, this is perfect.ALSO! The leather strap is long enough that when you pull the mute out of the bell it does not knock against the bell for quick, quiet mute changes.

Best stop mute I've played and more affordable that Ion Balu mutes.

Mute works well and makes it easier to play stopped horn vice using hand position

If I were going to buy another stop mute I'd want to spend more and get an Ion Balu stop mute or a Woodstop mute. This one works, but I get better sound by just hand stopping, and I don't have to mess with a mute.

Have had a similar stopping mute before - this one also works great. I'll try not to give this one away.

Great mute but it came with a slight tear in the cork. Not so much as it affects the sound or tuning, but it didn't come in perfect condition.

Cost-effective high-quality standard among horn stop mutes. You can pay hundreds more for these and get very little more for the money, and the cheaper ones are just that -- cheap. Tom Crown is a genuine best buy!
