This is the 4th Book in the Dover Castle Cafe saga. Each one has been a brilliant read, believable characters and gripping storylines.Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A lot of death and destruction.
Although I enjoyed the story there was too many desperate people with very muddled sad lives. I like a story to have depth but this one was too much, I need a cheerful story now.

Held my attention
The Dover Cafe under Fire was the first book I read and it took a while to get the many character figured out. Now, I'll go back and read the first two books. But like other reviewers, I do hope there is a book 4 because the book ended before the various story lines did. I want to know what happens! I'm enjoying reading a variety of books taking place during WWII and Dover Cafe (not caff) takes a different angle than some of the others. So, hurry with book 4.

Dover Cafe Under Fire
I wish the series was continuing. I enjoyed the story of the Castle family and their friends and neighbours. I also enjoyed the historical content and and story of how the people of Dover coped with the privations of living through the war.

I loved all 3 books in the Dover Cafe series. The characters are well-drawn and the story is character-driven. My only complaint is that 3 books in the series isn't enough. There are some storylines left hanging at the end of book 3. I hope there are plans for more books for these characters.
