Recently i have returned to late night bike riding and i knew i needed a nice, bright and compact headlight. The Ultra Bright BX-550 USB rechargeable bike light fro Night Provision is just that. The BX-550 is compatible with road, hybrid and mountain bikes and is ideal for use in urban areas. The light has a high 550 lumens output for enhanced visibility that can be seen from far away. You can expect up to 4 hours of run time with this light on the highest setting. A distinctive diamond beam shape makes this light particularly useful for urban riders, although it works just as well in other environments. Other highlights include a water-resistant Aircraft Anodized Aluminum / ABS Polymer construction, 3 different brightness settings each with its own run time (up to 10 hours!) a colored LED power indicator and the fact that this light attaches in just seconds and doesn’t require any tools. You can clamp the light in multiple places on a bike and there is also the nifty feature that you can remove the light and use it as a flashlight or for security purposes. There are a lot of lights out there but Night Provision makes great affordable products and i give this light 2 thumbs up. BUY IT!

Extremely simple to firmly attach to standard bike handlebars with the included ratchet clip - no tools needed at all which is a nice touch.Rechargeable overnight via USB. Light is very bright when on full! One click turns it on. Next 2 clicks dim it in stages. Last click puts it in strobe mode. Press and hold to turn it off.Well made. Sturdy and dependable. No silicon buttons to disintegrate as with other lights I’ve had.Not the cheapest bike light. But WELL worth the cost if dependability is your primary goal.

This light is extremely bright, as advertised. It secures easily and tight on the handlebars so there is no need to worry about it shifting or falling off. It is very easy to remove from the base while it also sits secure on the base when riding with it on the bike. It is like night and day, in comparison to other lights I have had, and brightly illuminates the road. I live in the country where there are no street lights, so I needed something very bright to use if the sun begins to set before I get home from my ride. I would not hesitate to recommend the Night Provision Ultra Bright light to all my bike riding friends.

Excellent bike light - I'm very happy with this purchase. Strongest setting is super bright; also has medium, low and strobe. I use strobe even during the daytime. I like the micro USB charging and how easy it is to release and snap in for charging. The only criticism is the mounting bracket which can be challenging to get it to clamp when it wraps a handle bar that includes a cable under the bar tape. It still fits, but it is a very tight fit.

A quality piece at a good price. This is my second light for my second bike. Didn't need to consider anything else. I rarely use anything but the lowest setting, plenty bright. One of the best things about this light is it lasts quite a while on a charge (longest on low). Since I ride a lot at night this keep me from having to recharge the light so often. Very happy and will buy again when needed.

After hours of research I finally decided to order this light and wasn't disappointed when received. Hooked up to a USB charging station with the included USB cable and the light was fully charged in no time. I suspect the light came with a partial charge so no idea yet as to how long the battery might last using the different modes, but I'm impressed with the build quality, options and output level so far. When I first tried mounting to my bike, the light wanted to slide out of the mount. Since I hadn't read the manual, it took me a few minutes to discover that I could lock the light on to the mount by pulling up on the catch on the back of the mount. I just ordered a second light for my wife.

the light is being used on my duel sport motorcycle as an extra light source. I don't ride really agressive trails but it stays mounted pretty good.The battery seems to work pretty good but I wish it could be taken out of the housing so that I could swap out batteries and carry a spare 18650 battery.The seller has done something no other seller has by emailing me a few times once to say thank you for the purchase. Once to say it shipped and once a few weeks later to make sure I was happy with it. So I thought that was pretty neat.

I purchased this light for a new bike, and I have used a NiteRider 350 (lumen) light on another bike for the past two years. This BX-550 is brighter as one would expect. On high, it clearly illuminates the path in front of me even in complete darkness (par for the course for early-morning biking in fall). I was also able to use medium brightness with no problem, and the strobe mode is useful to make cars more aware of your presence even during daylight.The light pattern -- as is typical for a light in this price range -- is round and brighter closer to you. More expensive ($100+) lights do a better job of uniform brightness at greater distances, but this light costs a fraction of those. It is comparable in price to my older NiteRider, has a similar light pattern, and is brighter -- I'm quite satisfied with the light.My only complaint is that the USB cable it came with was defective. It took me a couple of charging attempts to realize that the LED wasn't illuminating because the light wasn't receiving any power. I swapped it for another micro-USB cable I had on hand and it is now charging as expected.
