Q: Does the app send you a message when the battery gets low? How do you know when to recharge?

The app has a battery indicator and sends a notification when it’s time to recharge.

Q: Can the box be left unlocked?

The Boxx is designed to remained locked and unlock momentarily when access is requested via code or app. This design is intentional with consideration to child safety.

Q: Due to issue with mail carrier, found out from calling local p.o. mgr that carrier doesn't have to use porchbox that isn't usps-approved... so is it?

Well. He or she doesn't. But once mine figured out it saved him returning a few times and packages not being stolen... He started to use it.
