Klutz: Phoenix Down: But Did You Die?, Book 1

Great hangover read!
I loved this book! Is it the most well written? No. But it's very punny (iykyk). The one thing that bothered me was the lack of compound words in some of the dialogue. It trips me up when I'm reading a serious scene and a spoken sentence that would have naturally used a compound word does not use one. It breaks the flow a little. Probably just a me thing. I loved the FMC. She's cute, funny, and honest. She pushes through all of the difficulties like a badass or with witty humor. I liked some of the mates and I assume the others will grow on me throughout the rest of the series. It was a very enjoyable read after reading so many other serious fantasy books that left me with a hangover. Definitely recommend!

Klutz: Phoenix DownBut Did You Die? Book oneSedona AsheStars:Spice:Time read:Cliffhanger**MY REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**Always read TWs!Tags/Tropes:RomcomFated matesBullyRHAmaryllis “Ryls”, phoenixThe Shadow: (Jaguar pack)AnzacDaggerKnoxJettMaceRyls is on a plane when it crashed. Everyone d1es or is near D3ath. After reviving herself, she normally would go into hibernation in order to fully recover but she feels a call to save five of the guys on the plane. She saves all five guys only takes pass out and be awoken to five grumpy males. They insist they must get back to their mission and she can either stay behind or follow, but they do everything in their power to lose her. The guys, a Shadow of Jaguar shifters, are an elite group selected to hunt down the Phoenix and bring him/her back to train. They don’t realize Ryls is the phoenix but do recognize her as their mate. The guys are torn, half wanting to keep her half wanting to leave her. After all, they did make an oath that because of their obligations they would never take a mate. After a series of unfortunate events, it’s apparent Ryls is not a human but in fact the phoenix they are searching for.Klutz is funny, lots of adventure, and a tad bit of smut. It features a sassy heroine, and five broody jaguars who are intent on making her hate them.I did find a few typos and for this I cannot give five stars, but I really liked the storyline.

so funny. great world building!!
This book was not at all what I was expecting so funny and refreshing to see so much detail in the world building! The cliff hanger was quick and just enough info to pull you right into the next part of the story!! On to the next book!

I couldn’t give it less than 5*
Sedona Ashe does incredibly well in the story telling of Klutz. Usually I fight with a star ranking, trying to figure out what went wrong and was done right. Honestly? I can’t think of any way to make this one better. It hits every point that kept me interested.Every page has something important happening, the plot is constantly moving forward, and nothing pulled me out. Even the POV switches were perfectly placed and not jarring. I was able to keep track of all her mates, mostly. That’s more on me though, I can’t remember names as I’m writing, but the descriptions of each character matched with their respective names enough for me to know who was who when I was reading.I’m not typically one that gets into traveling stories (where the main characters are going from point A to point B over a period of time) BUT, this one kept up interest with plenty of death scenes, character development, fights and bickering. Loved every moment.

Hilarious, but at a cost
I enjoyed the heroine. Her personality and monologues were entertaining. Despite the abuse she takes from the males that she rescues, she pushes forward, wanting to survive, well, knowing that she cannot die...kinda. The deeper they travel through the jungle, the more we find out about her phoenix (aka Imp) and the jaguars. We are given vague reasons to explain important things, keeping the story somewhat mysterious. I don't know if that was done on purpose. I did not like most of the guys. They were dense and their excuses for mistreating the main character were just excuses, despite what was right under their noses. Well, except Dagger. I like Dagger. They considered themselves the most elite, but their reasoning and deductive skills were laughable. The ending was not what I expected. Again, I have questions, but telling you about them will kinda give things away. The story, despite several questions I still have, was entertaining and I will try the next book.

I loved this series!
I believed the bad press, I’ll admit it. All the 1 ⭐️ reviews really put me off these books. I’ve loved all the other books by Sedona Ashe so I finally decided to give them a shot… 30 hours later (after staying awake until nearly 4am because I couldn’t stop reading) and I’ve finished the series (and this makes me sad). Okay, the first book was hard to get through, I’ll admit it, but mainly because some of the guys are really hateful to her BUT!!! It gets better, and all the people saying she forgave them too easily? Did y’all read the same series I did cause those men had to work HARD for that forgiveness! I’m not putting any spoilers here because honestly you just need to go in blind and keep the faith that things are going to get soooo much better.

Surprisingly good.
This book had me feeling every emotion. I really enjoyed it. I had a love hate relationship with the guys. I loved Dagger the most and Anzac the least. The ending was surprising but at least I don't have to wait for answers.

Could not stop reading
Ryls is a funny (punny) kick ass lady. I laughed at her sarcastic wit and cried for her tender heart. I wanted to smack Mace and Anzac upside their stubborn heads. It will be hard to wait until after work to start the next book! Hurry 5 o'clock!

Entertaining read
It took me a bit to get into. I actually put it down and came back a few months later thanks to someone vehemently recommending it in a Facebook group, but I'm glad I did. I was too frustrated at her guys the first time to keep on. This second time around I loved it. The confetti had me laughing out loud. There were moments I definitely wanted to scream at the big jerks, and moments where I couldn't help but laugh at Ryls' misfortune. Glad the next book is already out, because that cliffy is a steep one!

Wow
The guys were jerks and Ryls was just too good for them. I hope they grovel in the next one.

Phoenix and her Jaguars
So when I came across this book and found out it was a series and hadn’t been completed yet, I waited very patiently for the series to finish as you know you know when you get that feeling it was gonna be good and I don’t like when a series isn’t completed so yeah I struggled to wait but I did. And now I’m so happy I did as book 1 is everything I knew it be and more.I don’t think the description of this book gives enough credit and it really is amazing. The FMC Rhls is funny, unique and brings the story to life. She’s learning about herself just as much as we are as a reader. She’s so innocent and sweet that you can’t help but love her.I’m loving how this story is written and considering this is my first read by Sedona Ashe, I’m here for it.Highly recommend, you just dive straight in and don’t look back, it’s binge worthy and entertain-able for sure.

Absolutely loved it
For me, the quality of a book - and its author- boils down to if I can connect with the characters. As I was crying buckets and laughing out hysterically, this book definitely does it for me, and I will definitely go on with the whole series. But if you are like me - don't read it in public 😉
