would this be equal to Dawn Ultra?

This is a lot thinner than Dawn Ultra. It seems to work fine but even if you pour it into one of the retail squeeze bottles and dispense from that it will come out of the bottle a LOT quicker. It doesn't take a ridiculous amount of detergent (maybe a tablespoon for this instead of a half teaspoon of Dawn Ultra for a sink full) but you can very easily use a lot more by mistake. Certainly do not buy the pump made for these bottles and try to use it at home -- the pump squirts out enough for a ten gallon sink intended for commercial use. I don't know of too many homes with a ten gallon capacity sink in them.

Did it come with a pump?

No. This does not come with a pump. I usually pour some into a small container that had a pump or a spray.

Is it 36 ounces (as described) or1 gallon (as pictured)?

Mine was a full gallon. I do see that another listing has a smaller bottle, though.

can this be deluted and used to spray to clean various surfaces?

you can dilute and use for cleaning dish , pot and pan
