Samsung Galaxy S4 Flip Cover Folio Case (Orange)

I received this case as promised. It was exactly what I was looking for. I recently purchased a white Galaxy S4 phone and wanted a flip cover that did not add bulk to my phone and that I could easily fold back the cover when I talk on my phone. I like the fact that the rather flimsy back of my phone is replaced with the harder shell of this cover. Also, the inside front cover has a suede like feeling on it to protect the glass front of my phone. I love the overall slim design of this cover that does not add bulk or extra weight to the phone. This is a quality cover that is made by Samsung. From some of the other reviews, I gather that there are some lower quality knock-offs. I can't speak to those, but the Samsung cover is awesome. I loved it so much, that I ordered a spare since I tend to keep my phones for far longer than two years.

I've had cell phones since they came in bags and were called bag phones. I recently ordered a Samsung Galaxy S4 and in anticipation of it's arrival ordered this case, just so I'd have something to put it in. Now, having had it for several days, I'm very impressed. While it requires that you replace the back of the cell phone (save the original!!) it's not a big deal to install; just make sure that it snaps all the way 'round. Once installed (a 30-second operation at most) it takes a bit of use for the hinge to loosen up so that the cover falls naturally and completely over the screen. After that, it closes itself naturally when you flip it. The cover itself is very attractive. The front has a brushed look; the back looks very much like the stock phone back (which you never really see anyway.) The inside front cover is soft. The cover is a natural, tight fight and complements the phone. I can slip it into my pocket and feel like my phone is well-protected. It adds very little bulk and I discovered that it will still fit into the side holster I used for my old Droid Incredible 2. At the price I paid ($17), this was a worthwhile investment. I will wait to see how durable the hinge is. For now, I'm very pleased with it. Update: I've had the case for almost a month now and still love it. One thing I had to get used to: when actually using the phone as a phone I had to get into the habit of bending the cover back. It's almost a two-hand operation (for me at least) so it can be a little awkward. Still, I like the cover and am willing to live with this small inconvenience.

Let me start by saying that the issue Amazon had with fake cases is gone (for me at least). When i got the case, i noticed how great it looks, and it has a cutout hole so you can talk on the phone with the flap closed. You replace the back cover with this case, so it really has no protection for the back, but thats not what bothers me so much. The fact is that when you open the case and put the cover beind the phone, it makes it a bit uncofortable to hold, watch movies, play games, etc. Also, when you flip the cover back to cover the screen, it doesnt stay down all the way, and just hovers above it. I have to mingle with the binding a bit to get it to set down all the way. I've only had this case for a few days so i'm hoping that goes away after the binding loosens up a little bit. UPDATE 2 weeks in, and the binding, has seemed to loosen up and i no longer have to adjust it, the case is also in very good shape, although the backing picks up minor scratches.

I find it difficult to believe some of these reviews and I think some must be planted by competitors. I ordered this case for my Samsung S4. I asked the seller located in Hong Kong to get the item to me ahead of schedule as I was going to be away and they responded immediately and got the job done. It matches the photos provided very well. It is very good quality and is quite comparable to the ones sold in T-Mobile stores for $40. By the way, it fits perfectly. For those of you who could not figure it out, try snapping at all four corners. Come on people this thing only costs $5 including shipping! What more could you expect?

Have to take the factory battery cover off and snap this one in place. Gives device a new look, more personal. Felt-like inside the front flap, help keeps the screen dust free. Can fold cover back to keep screen accessible, however screen is vulnerable to breakage of dropped (i learned the hard way to keep the cover closed whenever possible). Provides minimum protection, if looking primarily for protection I suggest a different product. Cosmetically this is great! image is true to color.

Summary: This is a good quality case if you are interested in a flip-style cover. However, this style is not for me and I will not be using it and it was quickly retired. Pros: - This flip cover looks exactly as the pictures show. It fits well on the phone and is sleek and elegant. - Seems to be made of high quality material, with the exception of the battery cover, which is made with the exact same cheap shiny plastic as the stock battery cover. Cons: - It covers the volume rocker and the LED notification light. If you use either of those features regularly, this cover style is going to annoy you. - It is inconvenient if you use are a heavy camera user. While the flip case fits the phone very well, it does hinder your grip on the bottom edge of the phone if turned horizontally for photo and video capture. - The Galaxy S4 comes with many motion detection features that are rendered useless with a cover of this style. - It successfully protects the screen while flat, but the flap opens very easily. Also, the metallic edges are not protected at all by this case. If you drop your phone, the screen and corners are still vulnerable.

No one ever plans on dropping their phone, that is why this style case is useless. Its nice for pulling in and out of your pocket and not worrying about scratching the screen, if u don't have a screen protector, but that is it. I dropped my phone a few times and it landed on its back and the case exploded, which is okay, cause it softened the drop and the phone was fine, I just put the phone back it the case. Now the big problem and why I will never go with a portfolio type case again. I dropped the phone in a parking lot and it landed smack on the glass and shattered. I then realized that the flap didn't have a magnet of flap to keep in closed, dumb, you'd have thought you'd think of that. If the portfolio case had a high ridge so the glass was embedded a bit then my glass wouldn't have shattered. I've just looked at every portfolio type case out there and none of them address this problem, if you have it open and drop it, it's fifty fifty whether the flap closes or opens and the glass shatters. Like flipping a coin. My solution, buy a protective case with a stand, make sure the phone is embedded, and buy a screen protector.

Love Love Love it!!! I love my new Samsung Galaxy s4 case...I got it in black and paid $14 and a few cents for it (plus tax & shipping). First of all, the product arrived one day earlier than estimated, the case was an original Samsung product box and when I opened it, the product looked exactly like the picture; new, no scratches, no stains, no malfunctions. Also, the back cover fits my phone and the front flap folds onto the screen of my phone perfectly. When I first installed my phone inside of it I realized that it probably wasn't made to bend all the way backward. I think that's the problem with a lot of the other reviews that weren't very positive. It is made to fold onto the screen and naturally bends forward so continually folding it all the way to the back is likely to cause it to not fold onto the screen of the phone properly. I love how sleek and elegant my phone looks now!!! Plus now I don't have to worry about smudges on the screen. I would recommend this product to other s4 owners...it does what it's supposed to do!
