How is the texture supposed to compare to other flavors? We feed her lamb and beef, but the chicken flavor we just received is very dry and hard.

I find the texture soft when compared to the venison which is very hard...I add organic chicken broth to this and my girls love it. It is important to add liquid as the texture/flavor is enhanced.

Why does this food contains Sodium Phosphate monobasic and is it toxic?

Sodium phosphate monobasic has a very high buffering capacity which is important for maintaining pH balance. How many patties in a 16 ounce bag?

Wow, three very varied answers. I just counted what is left of a bag I opened and there's 16. So I say there's about 25 to a bag and I doubt it's more than that. I've been buying them for quite awhile and I get the chicken. There may be more in other flavors, I don't know. But the chicken is about 25. I hope this helps.
