Excellent FP for writing
I've bought at least a half-dozen of these fountain pens both for my own use and as gifts. They are attractive, well balances writing instruments at a ridiculously low price. As an architect, I prefer to sketch with a Pelikan M1000 (that is literally a hundred times more expensive than the Baoer) because the nib is essentially frictionless on paper. But for writing, there is a certain pleasure in a small amount of resistance in the nib against the paper, and this particular Baoer model hits that sweet spot. The Chinese have pretty much perfected the manufacture of inexpensive, but quality steel fountain pens nibs because they need to supply millions of students with writing instruments (and Chinese characters require a more flexible nib to properly form them). For a daily writer, this pen is terrific. Save money and buy the Baoer reservoirs so you can fill ink from a bottle. The pre-filled cartridges are convenient for travel, but for everyday use bottled ink is better.
