Can these be used to fix a hole in the toe box?

The toe gets a lot of pressure. I doubt it would be a long lasting fix. For heels, these are the best ones available out there that I have seen.

I have tried vinyl engo blister patches. are these better? i wear holes in my brooks ghost heels.

I'm not familiar with the product you referred to but these patches have worked well for me. I wore hokes in my jokes within a month of buying my shoes. I used these patches and 3 months later they are wearing nicely. No additional damage to my shoes.

Is it smooth? Ir suede like?

Yes, very smooth, but durable. I wish I would have found these things years ago. *a shoehorn will help prevent the patch from possibly curling down a little as you insert your heel into the shoe-> I've had theme in 2 prs of shoes for over 6 months now & they look like I just put them in; wonderful product!
