Lost my mailbox key and I got this one, drilled the old one out and installed this, simple and easy

Replaced our mailbox lock after we lost our keys perfectly

While opening my mailbox one day, I broke the key off in the lock. The lock was old and janky anyway; I ordered one of these to replace it with. I chose this lock because the key looks the same as the key from the old lock. For lock replacement, installation was simple: simply remove the old lock, match the locking arm on the old mailbox lock to one of the five included with the set, and fasten the lock to the mailbox using the two included nuts. (A screw was alluded to in the instructions, but the actual device uses a nut instead.) It took about five minutes, including the walk to the box from my apartment and back. As compared to the old, dirty lock that this one replaced, it opens much more smoothly and reliably yet still feels very securely fastened to the door of the box. That said, I am not terribly concerned about the absolute security of this lock: if someone wanted to steal my mail, they would be much more likely to jimmy open the postal lock that opens the whole box at once. This is an easy DIY solution to a common problem that locksmiths or the post office would have charged dozens of dollars to fix.
