It's a loud horn, but it might not be loud enough to make them shut off their TV/stereo. An air driven horn might be more effective. But maybe you should just have a nice calm talk with them during the day when tensions wouldn't be so high.

Q: How loud is the SeaSense blaster horn compared to the type safety whistle used on boats

The blaster horn is plenty loud for a personal horn--loud enough to bother the people near you, but it surely would not be as loud as the warning horn on medium-sized to larger boats. I don't know that much about boats, as I am pretty landlocked, but there are surely boats and boat horns in many sizes and strengths and pitches.

Q: The product dimensions disclosed on Amazon seem HUGE (9x5x3). Is this device really that large? That sounds like the size of a large eggplant.

Those dimensions almost seem like the box size. I'd say a soda can is 2.5" diameter and 5" tall. This item is about 1.5" diameter and 5" tall -- approximately since I don't have mine in front of me to measure.

Q: I have COPD and can only blow like a 91 yeard old man, and Im only 81. Think I could get enough air to make a sound?

I am 63 I have asthma, chronic bronchitis and a touch of emphysemia, which means I also have COPD. I had metastatic cancer to both lungs and had half of my left lung remove and part of my right lung removed. I sure can not blow up a balloon.My situation does not sound as bad as yours however. The trick to blowing this is to get the part into the right configuration. I you do that you would be able to blow it. It does not make enough noise however. If you needed something to call for help from any distance more than 20 feet this is probably not going to help you.
